On page 972 is Sec. 432. Energy Refund Program for Low-Income Consumers

Section (2) At the request of the State Agency, eligible low-income households within the State shall receive a monthy cash energy refund to the estimated loss in purchasing power resulting from this act.

Can any of you libs explain to me why this would be necessary if the economic cost is only the equivalent of a postage stamp/day? How can the people behind this bill say there will be no big costs, but then insert this into the bill? Anybody else smell the tell-tale aroma of BS?

Did you notice all the mentions of the low income refunds and some that you have to be the lowest income and recieving benifits from the state?
What about the rest of Middle Class America? Will there be no effects to them?

No one has talked about the food prices going up yet.

Throw a little class warfare and more welfare on top of some genuine Obama bullshatting, and you've got change we can all believe in.

Still can't understand why they would put that in for such a low cost program.....

it's just another way to tax those earning less then $250,000 without enacting a tax.. kinda a reverse transparency thing.. like a hidden tax and nobody notices.

So, OT, you're the only Obamican that will even touch this issue; Why is Obama throwing in this provision when he claims the cost will be so minimal?

$15 a month probably is very minimal to a banker- but to some of the elderly and disabled living only on a fixed income- it could be quite a lot....

Oh, Puhleeeeze.    Make some more excuses for this guy - it's great for the future of this country.

Even the people who are writing this POS don't believe what they're telling the public. I don't understand why you not only allow yourself to be lied to, but you even defend it.

I wouldn't expect a banker to understand poor people- or fixed incomes..

Don't be playing the class game, Obama. You're just trying to detract from the fact that Obama's actions are not matching his words - like that's anything new....

OT, bankers deal with these folks daily...without them we would need no bankers.

OT I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I didn't even have a disposable spoon. Welfare didn't put me through college. I did.

Where you are in life is where you put yourself. I'm kind of proud of the routes I took.
