Obama A, “If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system.”

Obama B, “I have not said that I am a supporter of a single-payer system,”

Obama A, “I happen to be a proponent of single-payer, universal health care coverage.”

OK, libs, more help please. As a conservative, I don't know the secret signs to know when this man is lying and when he is telling the truth. Is he for single-payer or not?

You got it, Mike. However, let's give our liberal friends a chance to explain what Obama was saying. Maybe we're mistaken.

Reader, Badaxe, OT, the floor is yours.

Why don't you include more of the quote - perhaps a paragraph - so it can be put in context, and then I'd be happy to weigh in.

I'm sure part of that paragraph for each statement would have said something to the effect of:

"We're looking in to it but....."

Barack Obama said he would consider embracing a single-payer health-care system, beloved by liberals, as his plan for broader coverage evolves over time.

“If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system,” Obama told some 1,800 people at a town-hall style meeting on the economy.

A single-payer system would eliminate private insurance companies and put a Medicare-like system into place where the government pays all health-care bills with tax dollars.

-----------------------------------------

The second quote came at his last "town hall" meeting in New Hampshire.

-----------------------------------------------

"I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.”

Thanks, but you are still missing one.

No, I'm not. 1,2, 3. I even put in seperation lines for you.

I didn't ask for where it came from, I asked for the context it was stated in. What were the sentences surrounding it.

Obama, particularly in debates and forums, tends to ramble on, and that is why I wouldn't want to take that quote out of context.

Give up the argument folks. You are wasting your time. Put your efforts into something worthy. There will always be some people who are in denial or who won't even listen to Obama's words. This thread could go on for 100 pages and he's still going to be an Obama supporter no matter what happens. That is just how it is.

When you're ignoring lies, contradictions, unacceptable behavior,etc..... and even scrambling to defend, it's much more than being a "supporter". You've moved into the realm of fanatasicm, obsession, adoration. You're in a place where rational thought is gone.

"Obama is a great man".

My goodness.

I never thought you would take a direct shot like that at all the Bush supporters that inhabit this forum.

I'm proud of you.

That's your weighing in? That's all you've got? Why is this man talking out of both sides of his mouth?

Badaxe, are you sure that one not being an Obama supporter automatically makes that individual a Bush supporter?

He's resorting to fluff - he can't explain his messiah lying so he's diverting, trying to change the course of the discussion.

Maybe Reader or OT can explain what is coming out of Pinnociobama's mouth?

It was not his weighing in. It was his attempt to divert the subject of Obama being a proven liar.

Sort of like Clinton saying, "I did not have sex with that woman" and then having the techinicality that they did not have intercourse. Oral sex is not "sex" :D If not for that stain, that gal would have gone on a long list or "liars" from Clinton's past.

Each time one of these libs brings up a past president to avoid the topic line, we can bring up Clinton, Carter or any other past president ourselves.

Obama is a proven liar and they choose to accept him and remain in denial.

You're been furnished with your request. Are you now going to demand a certified letter quoting him?

We all know you are not going to own up to weighing in.
