Total BS. You live in a different world.

The latest fad for the little black thugs here is to follow women (usually white affluenced) home from shopping or work and pull in behind them in the driveway, blocking their exit.

Then at least two jumps out of their car and converges to both sides of the defenseless womens cars, sometimes while breaking out the side car windows and demands the jewelry and the purse. They sometimes rape if the home is secluded.

How do you defend against that?

One woman did here a few days ago... She shot the little deserving thug point blank in the face with a 9mm. He was DOA.

Haven't had anymore of this type incidence in over 3 days now...

I guess you're supposed to defend against that by pinching the little bastard on the arm.

My wife said she wouldn't touch one without gloves on - she'll just reach out with a +P.

[quotebut for those of us not ready to pack heat ][/quote]

Even if you aren't going to pack, getting schooled in weapons is one of the wisest moves you could do. If after you are trained and you still do not want to pack heat then that is fine. But we all know yours and mine chances improve against the bad guys when we pack. If it is still your choice then so be it. I just don't want to end up wishing I had had a gun after it is too late and one of my family is hurt or murdered. Can't go back then.

My other problem with people having guns so easily available is that they are around and unresponsible gun owners leave them available for children to get their hands on. Gun accidents do occur and that's why they should be locked up at home also.

You have lots of problems and it shows.

Telling all the criminals who is armed and who is not is simply the dumbest thing that has ever been proposed. You have gone on and on with all your problems all the way through this thread and none of it has any logic to it.

If a child gets hurt by a gas can, I don't think we should ban all gas cans. We should take care to protect children from any dangerous scenario.

If one of my sisters, or wife or daughter is driving around unarmed, I don't want criminals knowing.

Get out of your emotional block and start using a bit of logic. Your entire existence is in the C quadrant of your brain. You need to use the A, B, & D quadrants if you are capable.

I believe that automobile accidents are the biggest killers of children.

Should we lock them up and not allow children to ride?

I'm with boogie, you are not using logic.

If you ban guns, only criminals will have guns!
Protecting children is a parental responsibility!

Accidents usually happen when people are either not paying attention or when they are not familiar with what they are doing. Having the guns right out in front where they are a part of family life, coupled with a family time on the shooting range, will familiarize everyone with what a gun is, how it works, and what it can do will go a lot further in minimizing accidents than locking them up and treating them as though they are some kind of evil instrument that you have to be afraid of.........making them part of your life also removes that "forbidden fruit" syndrome that so often occurs when the kids "find" dad's gun hidden where ever it is he hides it.

Ohhhh.....this is gonna hurt.......BUT......

I agree with ya'll (and not with CA.)

It'll take me all day to recover from that statement!!!

BUT.....BUT..... I do think people should be educated about gun ownership. It's just a smart move.

As far as kids around guns....if they are taught what these things are....what damage they can inflict and that they ARE NOT toys, you will , 99.9% of the time have no problem. You may have to include a whuppin' or 2 to get the point across!!

I have my reasons....I've been robbed and I was once attacked, and both times I was un-armed.

NEVER AGAIN!!!

Kind of scary isn't it!

Neither nieces nor nephews nor my own children ever gave me an extreme fear around my firearms. What scared the heck out of me was guest children from homes with no firearms. That is sort of like someone wanting behind a steering wheel who has never seen a car or truck. Curiosity is just natural.

We should never let our guard down.

Whats sad is someone comes on here with an opinion about guns that is different then the rest and you people go bezerk..Yelling DO NOT TAKE MY GUNS.....but yet I suspect not one of you has shot another human on the streets or in your homes...Keep your guns, I could care less.....I just wish you showed the same outrage about prison terms and cleaning up your streets so your fear does not run so rampant, that your agrument for gun ownership is personal safety...All you people do is worry that your in danger and need to be armed..but yet not one of you will care to even acknowlegde the reasons why your in danger in the first place.......Why not scream..CLEAN UP OUR DRUG LADEN CITIES....LOCK THEM UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY....I understand CA's point about wanting guns out of her home, why cant you people?..Just cause she has different reasons for not wanting guns does not make your peoples reasons for owning them any better..The way i see it the more guns out there the more chance a victim can be killed...Criminals will instead of just robbing a person they will shoot them first then walk up and take thier wallet...guns used to kill do not stop violence and they never will...They just create more gun violence. Many good people have died with a gun in their hand..Fix the drug problem in north america and the fear will go way 10 fold...Keep your guns but please start screaming about the real reasons for your fear.........

I agree with Kolan and GP  What am I doing wrong? Or are they finally doing something right?

One other missing piece of the puzzle is letting kids play with guns as toys. In my 18 years so far of raising kids, not one toy gun has entered my property. I have had nephews bring toy guns and I take them away. I have taken them out and shot real guns to show them what guns are for, but no toy guns. No playing like sticks are guns.

Ps. Kolan you seem almost human or should I say conservative, a gun carrying child spanker

I find it ironic that, in a conversation about banning/not banning guns, you mention that what we really need to do is fix the drug problem. Do you think that banning them may be the answer?

Just as many of the D.C. policemen I saw interviewed on the news said-- the problem is the lenient laws and courts....They say that many times the folks they arrest in gun involved crimes are back out on the street committing more crimes before they can even get their arrest paperwork done...

They said the answer to D.C.'s gun problem is a law that requires a mandatory 15 years minimum in prison for anyone using a gun in the commitment of a crime....

Sounds good to me.....

OK so you guys donm't want A gun despite the figures show that guns reduce crime, more guns equal less crime. Let's just say you take your daughter to a park and a rapist comes along with a gun. He decides he is going to things to your daughter and he happens to lay his gun down.
What do you do, just wait. Do you grab the gun and shoot him, oops sorry you don't know how to use those nasty awful guns. What now?
