On Monday, the Boulder, Colorado-based Magpul Industries announced that it would begin the transition out of Colorado "almost immediately"

"We have said all along that based on the legal problems and uncertainties in the bill, as well as general principle, we will have no choice but to leave if the Governor signs this into law. We will start our transition out of the state almost immediately, and we will prioritize moving magazine manufacturing operations first," the company said.

According to the statement, the company has made "initial contacts" and has evaluated potential locations for its new headquarters and manufacturing facilities.

"Although we are agile for a company of our size," Magpul said, "it is still a significant footprint, and we will perform this move in a manner that is best for the company and our employees."

On Mar. 1, CEO Richard Fitzpatrick, a Marine veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm, announced that he would suspend sales to law enforcement in states with gun and magazine bans unless officers "promise to uphold their oath to the US Constitution - specifically the second and fourteenth amendments - as it applies to all citizens."

Ammunition magazine manufacturer Magpul Industries said it plans to begin leaving Colorado "almost immediately," and other firms may follow suit in the wake of a new law that limits ammunition magazine capacities.

"Our moving efforts are underway," Magpul chief operating officer Doug Smith said Wednesday. "Within the next 30 days we will manufacture our first magazine outside the state of Colorado."

and the dominoes start falling...

The firm's departure could have a ripple effect on companies that supply parts and materials to Magpul.

"We're basically going to follow Magpul and do our best to continue being a supplier for them," said Lloyd Lawrence, owner of Denver-based Lawrence Tool & Molding. "It will probably be out of state."
