looks like our nice weather the last couple weeks will be coming to an end, at least it doesn't sound like it will be as cold as it was before.

... WINTER STORM LIKELY FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...

A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT MUCH OF THE NORTHERN PLAINS FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. THIS STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BRING HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS... ESPECIALLY LATE SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. IN ADDITION... A PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN IS POSSIBLE DURING THE EARLY STAGES OF THE STORM ON FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. CONSIDERABLE UNCERTAINTY STILL EXISTS REGARDING THE EXACT TRACK OF THIS STORM... BUT IT IS LIKELY THAT SOME PARTS OF NORTHEASTERN WYOMING AND WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA WILL BE SUBSTANTIALLY AFFECTED BY THIS STORM.

OTHERWISE... AREAS OF FOG AND FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL LINGER OVER PARTS OF THE AREA TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY IN ADVANCE OF THE UPCOMING STORM... ESPECIALLY OVER NORTHWESTERN THOUGH WEST CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA.

We were leaving on Thursday to go south for a bit but we're not leaving til the storm is over. Mr. FH is concerned that all the plowed out areas will
blow full of snow again. So instead of getting out of it, we'll stay here
in order to deal with. I said if we were gone we couldn't do anything about it, but his answer was, "yeah, but we haven't left yet."

So it goes. :p

Stay safe everyone.

I hauled a load of heifers in for todays sale for my neighbor this morning- and at times it was so foggy you couldn't see the end of the alleyway where we loading them.....Ice Fog--Still socked in at 11AM..

And now the weather guessers are telling us we could get that major winter storm with another foot of snow- wind and blizzard conditions this weekend....We will be about on the western border- with chances the heaviest will go south and east of us....Dakotas could really get it again....
About fitting- on Tuesday I just got the last of the yard and corrals cleaned from the snow we had from before....

Only good thing is they aren't saying bitter cold temps- with lows around normal--- 0 to 5 Below...

I love the accuweather website...They always give a bunch of indexs for your area like pollen/allergy index, UV light index, etc. etc.

Today the have the arthrits pain index as very high (which I could already tell them with this weather change) but they have the mosquito index for this area as Low....

Power was out a couple of hours last night at the North Place...Opheim cancelled school this morning because the town was out of power...

Another foggy, wet, almost Seattlish day in northeast Montana...Temp is 28- You can almost cut the moisture in the air...Surprising thing with the fog- is that we have 15-20 mph wind :???:

I guess just south of us is getting mixed rain and snow- snain...

YIKES!-- I just heard Pulaski the weather man on the Northern Ag Network-- and they are claiming this could be a RECORD breaking storm- at least in the top 5-10 ever in recorded history for the states of WY, MT, ID, and the Dakotas...
Some parts of Wyoming already have 3 feet of snow.....And then after the snow the wind is supposed to come- from the east first- then north- then northwest- so it can really plug things up...

They must be thinking its going to be bad- because they are actually cancelling all the sports events in the state  - and I thought that only happened when Hell froze over...

It was off for an hour and a half here yesterday evening, then
off and on during the night and again this morning. Since about
10 am, it's stayed on.

They are calling for a foot of snow here by Monday.
And 'locally damaging winds'.
