You better clone that old gal. Looks like she is doing her darndest to raise a calf weighing half as much as she does, or more. Looks good.

Nice looking calf... We just weaned on Thursday and the chorus has finally ended.. Turning them out onto green grass today. Usually don't have enough to spare for the calves this tiime of year and let the moms have it all but we are grass surplus right now.. and will be ffor a few more weeks. Depending on first frost that s.. 37 forcasted for a low on Thursday.. If that slips a bit the marsh grass will be done but the fescue and other grass will grow for a while longer...

I don't suppose those gesse were flying North were they NR? Please... Please.. They can stay up there for a few more weeks.. Plese?

Nice pictures, NR. Thats a really good picture of the cow and calf.
I really like seeing the milk on the calves faces this time of year.

For those of us who are just a tad bit south of you...KEEP THEM GEESE THERE!!!! We're not ready for winter yet...Although I'm sure further south down Texas way..they want the geese to come and cool things off a little. I haven't seen to many geese flying south yet...but now you've got me worried that they are on their way..lol With a cow and calf like you show here...all the headaches of ranching suddenly seem worth while don't they...Great shots!

They'll hang around up here for a month or so yet-I don't think they were flying all the way south lol. Pretty good day when they first come back in the spring for sure.
