Just read on MSN news that two mounties got shot tonight a little over an hour east of here. They are still alive but they haven't caught the guy yet-it's pretty thick bush over there if he knows his way around they could have a heck of a time finding him-hope they find his scumbag ass soon.

I think that happened yesterday, NR, and it seems to me they know who did it. If that's the male and female mounties shot during that car chase. I was wondering if that was your area where it happened. I sure hope they're alright.

Oh GREAT!!! More ammo for the gun control idiots.
I hope those cops will be OK and they catch the shooter. I gotta wonder if a legally owned, registered weapon was used or if it was stolen and/or unregistered.
Why is it so hard for the average urban/leftist/Liberal to understand that criminals do not obey laws. Even communist gun laws.

Yeah I guess it was yesterday I just saw it online today-yeah they know who the guy is-the place they got shot at is just a hamlet it's not much more than an hour from me. It's real dense cover over there-if this guy is any good in the bush they'll have trouble-said he's wearing a T shirt and cutoffs so maybe the bugs will drive him out. I imagine some people are having some tough times sleeping till they catch him.

How are the officers doing????? you said they were still alive but nothing else. Having family that is in law enforcement and alot of friends who are also. I get upset when one gets hurt.
I wish if you endangered an officer you got more than a slap on the wrist.

I will add them to my prayer circle.

The news this morning says they are recovering, and the next 48hrs will determine thier injuries. The suspect was wearing shorts...so like NR said ,the bush is full of skiters,he'll either get eatin alive or surrender.

Checked on MSN news today and he's still at large-looks like the two mounties are going to make it also-both have young kids. He's in tough country to find somebody in but sure they will flush him out.

NR, be careful. One hour away isn't very far. I would hate him to sneak up on you when you are checking your cattle. But second thought he might be the worst for wear after you got through with him.

Ohh he's got alot of bush to go through to get here-I've got a feeling he's done himself in out there. It's actually not far from where we used to guide if you go cross country. They'll get him i'm sure just a matter of time.

Had some neighbors come over tonite for coffee-this deal is getting worse as it goes. I didn't put two and two together-the male mountie that got shot is my friends son-in-law-it sounds like the prognosis isn't good for either officer. Sounds like this guy was a timebomb but hadn't done anything to really warrant locking him up till now. Those police looking for him out there are brave people-if he's shot two officers not going to stop at shooting another.

No Catching yet, very sad deal, and the female cop is in very bad shape, I think the media is downplaying it a bit, so that he doesn't know that he has murdered an officer.

Pray for them and their families

Arthur Dagenais, 69, was arrested on July 8, the morning after Const. Robin Cameron and Const. Marc Bourdages were wounded near the farming community of Mildred, about 140 kilometres west of Prince Albert.

Both officers are still in serious condition at a Saskatoon hospital.

The elder Dagenais was later charged with obstruction of justice in connection with the police search for his son, Curtis.

On Wednesday, the Crown told the court that Arthur Dagenais defied a police order to stay away from a restricted area where RCMP officers were seeking his son.

Crown prosecutors also said police found $27,000 in cash and two rifles hidden in a piece of machinery on Art Dagenais's farm.

The Crown wants Arthur Dagenais to stay in jail until his trial, saying he has a 20-year history of animosity toward police officers.

The court was also told that Curtis Dagenais phoned his father while on the run from police in the hours after the shooting, saying he was worried that his old truck wouldn't be able to outrun the RCMP.

"The implication was that he was running from the police and he was crying, and before they could discuss anything further, the telephone call quit," said lawyer Lori Gollan, who is representing Arthur Dagenais.

The judge is not expected to rule on Arthur Dagenais's application for bail until Friday
