Awesome Pictures!!! I love how you kinda used Willies ears as a picture frame!! :)

Whys his mane shaven?? Mules have manes dont they? :?

Katy

Mules' manes are pretty short. They look better if their manes are roached.

So how's the handle on Willy?

And is he named for "will he buck or won't he"? :D

Willy has a pretty good handle. He reins well, and doesn't give any problems when asked to leave the other horses. At this point in time, I am rather excited about his potential. As we drove the cattle through a sandy draw, I got down my rope and "heeled" a few calves, even though I didn't pull the slack tight to actually catch anything. Ol' Willy didn't like it at first, but got used to the procedure.

He's a fast walker. His trot is a little rough, but he has a nice smooth ground covering lope. Time will tell.

Good to see you still have your good sense and tried the rope in a sandy draw, so it'd be nice an soft if ol' Willy blew up.

The pictures of Kosmo on the mule - his profile, and the way he sits a horse, remind me of early pictures I've seen of his grandpa.

I took a look at ranchers.net tonight for the sole purpose of seeing some of Soapweed's pictures, so thanks for sharing.
