 Guess it is ok to take the Tax payers money for redistrubution but he sure holds on tightly to his.

3/10ths of one percent he gave

Biden's Average Annual Charitable-Gift Total: $369
Sen. Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, have given an average of $369 per year to charities during the past decade, according to tax returns posted today to Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign Web site.

Senator Biden, the Democratic nominee for vice president, claimed $995 in charitable gifts in 2007 on the joint return with his wife. That figure is 0.3 percent of the couple’s claimed income of nearly $320,000.

The 2007 contributions were significantly higher than the couple’s gifts in previous years, which ranged from $120 to $380.

By comparison, Sen. John McCain, the Republican Presidential nominee, in 2007 reported $405,409 in total income and contributed $105,467, or 26 percent of his total income, to charity.

Sen. McCain files a separate return from his wife, Cindy. The totals do not include Ms. McCain’s income or charitable contributions.

Sen. Obama, and his wife, Michelle, donated $240,000 in 2007, or about 5.7 percent of the couple’s $4.2-million in reported income.

Mr. Biden has been rated as the least wealthy U.S. Senator.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Mr. McCain’s running mate, has not yet made public her tax returns.

$4.2 million huh?? Wonder how a Jr. Senator from Illinois accumulates that much wealth so quickly on a Senator's salary??

Obama's income was almost entirely from royalties off the sale of 2 books....

C'mon, TexasBred, you asked a question...it was answered. Why belittle the answer to the question that you asked?

You asked where he got his money...the answer was from book sales. Doesn't matter if the books were text books, history books, biographies, fiction or thrillers...he got his money from book sales.

Now, if you want to ask what you or anyone thinks of those books, that's another question and not the answer to a question.

Alice

NO..the answer I got was that he got almost all his money from the ROYALTY from HIS books...Actually it came from upfront money the publisher paid in anticipation of great sales......speculation if you will.....fact of the matter is that people are coming forward proving that many many of his claims in his books are pure fiction....or as some might say "lies".

You are arguing for the sake of argument. Question: Where did the money come from? Answer: book sales, or royalties, if you will. Simple question...simple answer. Nowhere in that question was, were these books a work of fiction? It was simply, where did the money come from...and that was answered.

My 2 cents and I'm sticking to it.

Back to the original idea, is a person that gives 3/10th of their income to charity on a good year the kind of carrying person you want a heart beat away from the presidency? You put that together with Bidens arrogant self centered demeanor and it should tell you something about the person that is only a heart beat away from the Presidency.

In the past decade he has had years were he has given as little as $120 in charitable contributions for the entire year.

Even Obama was smart enough to up his Charitable contributions the year before he decided to run for president!

Obviously you haven't...that's what Obama and the dems. have in store for you. A bit like boiling a frog...put him in cold water and turn up the heat. He'll never know it's hot til it's too late.

Thanks for the concern, but considering the alternative, I think I'll take my chances.

Alice, I think you're right. A question was asked and an answer was given. That answer never got acknowledged. That is so sad when people do that and, though I think it happens more from the liberal camp, it does happen on both sides and it so damages the credibility of the person who does it.

The thread did kind of get hijacked, though.

I heard this fact a few days ago and had to chuckle. That's a pretty big difference in charitable contributions. It'll be interesting to see where Palin's contributions come in.

Movin...the answer given was definitely acknowledged...I actually used the answer given to correct Alice...although she didn't acknowledge it. hahaha

Aplus it is all about a person's creed - for some of us.

For others it is something else. They refuse to see the true colors.

If you take all the wealth in the world and split it up equally, some folks will be dirt poor in no time and there is nothing to be done about it.

No matter what happens, the doers and shakers will be doing and shaking when this is over. The bums and whiners will be bumming and whining.

Children of families in poverty are the real victims in everything. The children did not put their families in the situation they are in. You have to support anyone who donates to these kids.
