Mr. Magoo, the Siamese kitten

A friend found this kitten by a sagebrush about frozen to death in that cold spell we got after Thanksgiving. They thought his eye was out and he was crippled. They took him in and nursed him back to health, but were allergic to him so they brought him to us. We really aren't cat people, but we have a huge 13 year old black cat we call "Baxter Black". Now we have another housecat. We had to have him declawed, but this cat is hilarous. We should have named him Evil Kneivel because he can jump higher and leap farther than any cat I have ever seen. He is a hoot. Just wanted to share a picture of him here because we think so much of him. He even likes me maybe best. That's unusual because all the animals love Mr. FH and are his before they are mine, and they let me know it. It's been that way for years.

OH he's cute!!! You can just see "Charactor" oozin from him by the way he's got his lil paws draped over the arm of the chair.

We also have a new kitty, he was a stray that just showed up at a friends house/barn. she already has one barn cat and didnt want two. The day before we'd had to shoot our other cat that stays at the shop, He was actin real strange and was shakin, couldnt walk strait, and when I tried to look at him, he made a run at me....which he'd never done before.....at which time I said, Ok that's it!!!!! Time to go!!!!

Our new lil kitty stays down at the shop/barn, and is named of all things, "Barney"

I simply LOVE cats, but the cat hair/dander does not like me...I, too, am very allergic and the medication is a bit costly!!   We had a mama cat who had 6 babies about a year back...all 6 babies looked completely different from each other...turned them into barn cats to try and fend off the mouse problem we have here!! Sure miss my household companions, though!! :?

Thanks Lilly!

He looks like a pretty high-class Blue Point Siamese, don't you think?

I can't imagine someone losing him in that little town and not come looking for him.

We have never had a Siamese cat before. They are different, and he is such a character. He aggravates the old cat who is at least twice his size. The old cat finally holds his foot on him to keep him at bay. But Magoo is pretty bonded to the old fella whether Baxter likes it or not. He'll bulldog him and get him down and then Baxter gets ahold and makes him cry. Then he runs for cover. Baxter could take a huge bite out of him but he never does.

LOL sounds like my wiener dogs....the male Wrangler is 2 1/2 and Rockie is 7 mo old now......but she's tiny, and aggressive, aggrivatin.....agitator.......she grumps at him, chases him, chews his ears, and very rarely does he git fed up enuff to snap back at her....but when he does......she squeaks.....and comes runnin to me with her tail tucked tween her legs......and expects me to "save her".

Did you have him tested for rabies? I had one that acted just like that and he had rabies.

No, didnt get it tested for rabies, it's fairly common around here to have skunks and raccoons that have rabies. This "shop cat" was one that'd just showed up a couple months ago. You couldnt catch it or pet it.
the new kitty however will be gettin a rabies vaccine soon. And all the dogs have had theirs along with the horses too.

FH:

I just love your Magoo cat...what a striking (looking that is...) cat he is. He looks like his fur is extra soft too.

He does look like he has plenty of personality to keep you and your hubby well entertained.

Probably Mr. TTB wishes you never would have posted this pic...just starts my begging for a cat or kitten all over again. He'll tell me I was lucky to get Holly the Super Corgi, but he wanted her just as much as I!

Again, great pic and give Magoo a good petting and chin scratching for me!

Cheers---

TTB

PS: Do you have him on a good Vigortone cat mineral package??? I'd hate to see that handsome (since he's a he) silver color turn to rust...

Nice kitten. I like the name for your old cat "Baxter Black" Funny the names we come up with for our animals. We must have to much thinkin' time. We had a big black cat i called "Purrin Husky" after Ferlin Husky. naturally he was the biggest of the litter and boy could he purr.

TTB, of course we have him on Vigortone cat food!
Need you ask?

Thats why his hair looks like it does. I will have to post a picture of Baxter and you can see what a long-haired 13 year old cat that has lived all of his life on Vigortone cat food looks like. Never have to cut any matts out of his hair, never!

Baxter is the smartest cat I have known. He minds like a dog. And when he wants you for something, he comes right to you, opens his mouth and meows...once...it is funny. So then we get up and see what he is telling us. He does this BEFORE he runs out of food but when the dish is getting low. He's not taking any chances.

We don't feed our cats anything from the table so they are not a nuisance in the kitchen when you are cooking or eating. Sure makes it nice. Worked so well with Baxter that we are doing the same thing with Magoo. I don't much care for cats begging in the kitchen.

Windy as heck here today, is it there?

Yeap he looks like a Blue....Beautiful. Guess this special guy was getting ready to come to you. With MrFH having all the other animals he has you ALL TO HIMSELF

3 Summers ago Kaitlyn got bit by a stray cat.....we couldnt catch it so she had to go through the rabies shots OMGAWD. The animal control people and Hospital said cats are the number one carrier for rabies. Always get any cat the rabis shots so they cant pass it on to any family member. The shots are no longer in the stomach BUT there are still ALOT of them in the leg to have a kid to get.

hmmmmm I too am allergic to cats ...seems alot of people are now a days...weird. I love cats amd miss mine soooo much. Keep hoping one will show up on my doorstep. Maybe :(

Beautiful cat. Growing up I had to simease cats with tons of personality and so fun. When we'd grain the horses in the barn in the morning they would sit on their backs and a time or two rode one out as it was let loose.

Thank you. He is just so darn much fun!!

So very curious and with personality plus. At first I didn't want to
keep him, but Mr. FH talked me into it and now he is more MY cat.
But mostly he is his OWN cat.

You know what they say, "You own dogs, but cats own YOU."

He hasn't ventured outside much but he sure runs to the door and looks when you go out. He was pretty traumatized so we are taking it slow. And he is declawed because he was like velcro (stuck to everything). We can't just turn him out alone.
