Tam said:OH and she said her and Baraks Student Loan payments when they first started out, were higher than their MORTGAGE PAYMENTS. If you are that far in debt with Harvard Loan Debt How did you get a MORTGAGE in the first place? :?
"We got married and moved into a basement apartment. We walked to class together, shared the housekeeping and ate a lot of pasta and tuna fish," , describing their early years together. "Our desk was a door propped up on sawhorses. Our dining room table was a fold-down ironing board in the kitchen."
"We had our first child in that tiny apartment. We couldn't afford a desk, so we used a door propped on sawhorses in our bedroom. It was a big door, so we could study on it together.... The funny thing is that I never expected help."
We were living on the edge, not entertaining. No, I did not work. Mitt thought it was important for me to stay home with the children, and I was delighted."
"They were not easy years. You have to understand, I was raised in a lovely neighborhood, we moved into a $62-a-month basement apartment with a cement floor and lived there two years as students

Fact Check: First Lady's False Fairy Tale of Struggle
First Lady Michelle Obama’s pitch to voters last night relied on the premise that she and her husband understand what it is to struggle to make ends meet.
Both Michelle Robinson and Barack Obama began their adult lives with a leg up on the rest of America. They attended elite schools: Michelle went to Whitney Young, the public magnet school for Chicago’s upper class, while Barack attended Punahou, the private prep school for the top stratum of Hawaiian society. They were accepted to Ivy League schools despite undistinguished credentials, and both attended Harvard Law School.
They had both just graduated from a very expensive law school, and their combined income from cushy law firm jobs dwarfed the repayments. Barack also soon enjoyed a second salary from the University of Chicago.
They had expensive tastes, reflected in the $277,500 two-bedroom condo they bought in 1993--a high price even by today’s standards. Several years later, they moved into their $1.65 million mansion in Hyde Park--with the help of fraudster Tony Rezko.
As her husband moved onto the national political stage, Michelle Obama began to enjoy a lavish lifestyle at taxpayer expense, directly and indirectly. When Barack Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate, he obtained a $1 million earmark for the University of Chicago Hospital--and his wife’s salary as Vice President for Community Affairs jumped from $121,910 to $316,962. Her job: pushing poor, uninsured patients to other hospitals.

so Barack right out of school bought a condo for $277,500,.. that ain't struggling...
but it gets worse...
he had to take a hell of a pay-cut to enter public life... so she landed a better job...

Barack Obama, on the other hand, had the basement of 365 Broadway in Somerville, which the future president rented for $900 a month while attending Harvard Law School from 1988 to 1991.

Ann and Mitt ate supper on a fold down ironing board .
That may have happened for a day or two while they were waiting for their dining room furniture to be delivered- but it wasn't because of their financial status...![]()
Do you really believe that the son of a wealthy multimillionaire businessman-- who was the Governor of a State, and ran for President of the US-- and who had a father that financed his schooling starting with 7th grade being sent to one of the most prestigious private schools in the country-- couldn't buy a table to eat off of...... :???:
Sorry- I can't give any sympathy for poor little Mitt and his financial sufferings of his youth ...
Even many of the Republican pundits caught that- and are having a tough time choking her story on that down...

BTW,.. if you had read about the Rowney's first home, they had to "borrow" money from his father to purchase it...
I don't have sympathy for them either,.. but I certainly don't have contempt.. for any of them...
care to defend the Obama's struggles?
