Makes me cry to think about it. :x NOT!

And anyway, a lot of people were poor, good people...so it's nothing
new. That's the American Dream, to work and do better for yourselves. The libs are so screwed up--they think they are ENTITLED to have better. GRRRR.

Poor Barak According to Michelle when he would pick her up for a date he would show up in a car with rusted floorboard so bad that she could see the ground and he was wearing shoe a size to small.

Gee I wonder if his drug dealer had a car with floor boards and shoes that fit. :? Maybe he should have bought shoes instead of POT and safer car instead of a little COKE when he could afford it.

If that was his judgement then can he be trusted to make the right decision now. Maybe that is why he has an INCOMPLETE Grade on his first four years. TOO MUCH POT IN COLLEGE AND TOO TIGHT OF SHOES.

OH and she said her and Baraks Student Loan payments when they first started out, were higher than their MORTGAGE PAYMENTS. If you are that far in debt with Harvard Loan Debt How did you get a MORTGAGE in the first place? :?

compared to....

"We got married and moved into a basement apartment. We walked to class together, shared the housekeeping and ate a lot of pasta and tuna fish," , describing their early years together. "Our desk was a door propped up on sawhorses. Our dining room table was a fold-down ironing board in the kitchen."

"We had our first child in that tiny apartment. We couldn't afford a desk, so we used a door propped on sawhorses in our bedroom. It was a big door, so we could study on it together.... The funny thing is that I never expected help."

We were living on the edge, not entertaining. No, I did not work. Mitt thought it was important for me to stay home with the children, and I was delighted."

"They were not easy years. You have to understand, I was raised in a lovely neighborhood, we moved into a $62-a-month basement apartment with a cement floor and lived there two years as students

from where I am, both the Romney's and Obama's had extraordinary opportunities..

i agree ranchers.net, wasn’t The First Lady beautiful, and her speech magnificent !

Her wig was styled very nicely but she forgot to mention Barack's rather large inheritance of bank stock that his Grandmother had accumulated from the bank she worked while being sexually harrassed for decades. Pretty good seeing how badly she was treated. Around $500,000.00.

I was starting to feel sorry for Barack & Michelle until I found out about the inheritance and that money didn't mean anything at all to them.

Yes, Michelle had me in tears.....................................................

If you like a one up type of speech filled with lies then yes you might think that.

Ann and Mitt ate supper on a fold down ironing board so Michelle ups that and talks about rusted floorboards and shoes that don't fit.

Ann says her dad was a coalminer Michelle talks about her had getting up in the morning using a walker to stand and shave and when he got home he would have to use his hands to left his tired legs up to make up the steps into their waiting arms.

And her Big Lie was Barak doesn't care it you are Republican Democrat or no party he realizes we all love American and is willing to take good ideas from everyone and work with everyone for the good of the nation. Bull the only person he is willing to work with is his GOLF CADDIE.

No meeting with his Jobs Counsel, Cabinet or the Republicans He came into office telling the Republicans HE WON. And he invited Paul Ryan to sit in the front roll so he could chastize him for his budget when Obama's proposed budget didn't even get a Democrat to vote for it.

I would call this a reality check...

Fact Check: First Lady's False Fairy Tale of Struggle

First Lady Michelle Obama’s pitch to voters last night relied on the premise that she and her husband understand what it is to struggle to make ends meet.

Both Michelle Robinson and Barack Obama began their adult lives with a leg up on the rest of America. They attended elite schools: Michelle went to Whitney Young, the public magnet school for Chicago’s upper class, while Barack attended Punahou, the private prep school for the top stratum of Hawaiian society. They were accepted to Ivy League schools despite undistinguished credentials, and both attended Harvard Law School.

They had both just graduated from a very expensive law school, and their combined income from cushy law firm jobs dwarfed the repayments. Barack also soon enjoyed a second salary from the University of Chicago.

They had expensive tastes, reflected in the $277,500 two-bedroom condo they bought in 1993--a high price even by today’s standards. Several years later, they moved into their $1.65 million mansion in Hyde Park--with the help of fraudster Tony Rezko.

so Barack right out of school bought a condo for $277,500,.. that ain't struggling...

but it gets worse...

he had to take a hell of a pay-cut to enter public life... so she landed a better job...
As her husband moved onto the national political stage, Michelle Obama began to enjoy a lavish lifestyle at taxpayer expense, directly and indirectly. When Barack Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate, he obtained a $1 million earmark for the University of Chicago Hospital--and his wife’s salary as Vice President for Community Affairs jumped from $121,910 to $316,962. Her job: pushing poor, uninsured patients to other hospitals.

Ann and Mitt ate supper on a fold down ironing board .

That may have happened for a day or two while they were waiting for their dining room furniture to be delivered- but it wasn't because of their financial status... :p

Do you really believe that the son of a wealthy multimillionaire businessman-- who was the Governor of a State, and ran for President of the US-- and who had a father that financed his schooling starting with 7th grade being sent to one of the most prestigious private schools in the country-- couldn't buy a table to eat off of...... :???:

Sorry- I can't give any sympathy for poor little Mitt and his financial sufferings of his youth ...

Even many of the Republican pundits caught that- and are having a tough time choking her story on that down...

Not quite the sob story old Michelle was telling the koolaid drinkers was it? Like I said she heard Ann's story and had to make it SOUND AS IF she and Barak had it MUCH WORSE  And those idiots will not fact check her story to see she was LIEING THROUGH HER TEETH.

Barack Obama, on the other hand, had the basement of 365 Broadway in Somerville, which the future president rented for $900 a month while attending Harvard Law School from 1988 to 1991.

driving his 1984 Toyota Tercel to class (and picking up the occasional parking ticket).

I guess with the cost of an apartment, car payments and student loans he couldn't afford to pay the ticket or get new shoes...

some parents like will pay for the best of education while letting our children take care of themselves..

BTW,.. if you had read about the Rowney's first home, they had to "borrow" money from his father to purchase it...

I don't have sympathy for them either,.. but I certainly don't have contempt.. for any of them...

care to defend the Obama's struggles?

Well Steve- 7 years after law school- a lawyer (especially a Harvard grad in a major metropolitan area) should be doing quite well...And anyone with an education, decent work history and/or good job could get credit for a new car and/or house with little down....And that is about the time period my sister was living in and owned a house in Chicago-- and a $277,000 house was definitely no mansion in Chicago...

But Romney better take a change of direction if he's going to put himself out as a poor little boy off the streets that pulled himself up by the bootstraps... Folks ain't buying that....
