MSNBC report:Gun toting Racist at HealthCare protest

President in danger, due to these black hate groups? I think they may be exaggerating the situation, just a bit.

I'll take a guess and say the guy at the protest with the "assault weapon", does not hate the President, just because he is black.

On Tuesday, MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer fretted over health care reform protesters legally carrying guns: “A man at a pro-health care reform rally...wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip....there are questions about whether this has racial overtones....white people showing up with guns.” …

Following Brewer’s report, which occurred on the Morning Meeting program, host Dylan Ratigan and MSNBC pop culture analyst Toure discussed the supposed racism involved in the protests. Toure argued: “...there is tremendous anger in this country about government, the way government seems to be taking over the country, anger about a black person being president....we see these hate groups rising up and this is definitely part of that.” Ratigan agreed: “...then they get the variable of a black president on top of all these other things and that’s the move – the cherry on top, if you will, to the accumulated frustration for folks.”

it's always a good sign when someone carries a gun to a meeting. at least in some banana republics.

found out a bit more about this. Here is the video and a picture of the person that they are trying to portray as a person that hates obama because he is black.

They intentionally cropped the shot, so you could not see that the gun owner was black.

Race baiting like this is dangerous, MSNBC should lose their license or at least be charged, don't you think?

Personally as far right as I am, I am against people carrying guns to rallies. I have no problem if they carry a pistol every day and keep it cancelled. But the Black man carrying the Ar15 on his shoulder was a little over the top! I even wondered if he was a plant?

I for sure do not think anyone should be allowed to carry their gun to a Presidential event, they should have to check them like in a court room or government building.

Maybe associating with all the liberals on here is rubbing off on me

are you saying that you agree with the MSM making everything out to be racist?

the gun that he has is "over the top" for sure, whether he is expressing a Constitutional right.

But what does it say about a society when the MSM "fudges" the picture and details to fabricate a story, that falls in line with the story that a specific administration is trying to portray?

Journalism died in 2008.

I cannot stand when "news" companies twist things around to fit their "agenda".

I guess calling them "news" companies isn't even accurate.

Sad bunch of liars, and MSNBC is leading the pack.

I was a little shocked at how this man was "portrayed as a racist" ..

a little shocked that he had an AR- 15.. and a side arm and a clip in his back pocket..

but the second amendment is a right.. a right has responsibility...

sure wish the press would remember their responsibility..

I would suspect a "plant"...just as some of the Nazi protester. People at these town hall meetings should talk to protester like these to find out their motives and who they are. These type things happened during the campaign.

Don't forget GE's Jeffrey Immelt is on Obama's advisory staff.

On behalf of the nearly half million members of Americans for Limited Government — and tens of millions of other equally appalled Americans of all races nationwide — I hereby demand the immediate termination of Contessa Brewer, Toure, Dylan Ratigan and any and all others involved in any way with the fraudulent “news” that ran in the 10:45AM segment of your August 18 broadcast.

You network has besmirched the dignity and honor of American people. You have endangered the life of the President of the United States. You have purposely fanned racial tensions. And you have deliberately lied to your own audience.

UPDATE 2: Olbermann showed more footage of the man on Aug. 19.

Dear Mr. Capus:

On Tuesday, August 18, at 10:45 AM, your network -- with a blatantly racist broadcast -- took the falsification of the news to a dangerous new low. I am writing to you today on behalf of the 400,000 members of Americans for Limited Government nationwide to ask that all involved in this nefarious assault on decency be immediately fired from their jobs.

I am referring, of course, to the MSNBC “news” cast on that morning in which your anchors hysterically raised the specter of impending racial violence — while carefully cropping the very video upon which they based their duplicitous charges. Leading audiences nationwide to believe that militant whites were mounting violence against a black President, they deliberately covered up the fact that the individual they were framing was himself African-American.

I could go on with a graphic description of the horrendous misrepresentation foisted on the American people by your anchors and those who worked with them on your distorted reportage, but by now, I am sure that you are well aware of the despicable fraud they perpetrated. Even if you, like most Americans, were not watching MSNBC at the time, you undoubtedly have been apprised of the transgression by now.

Therefore, I will not waste your time or mine regurgitating the facts of the blatant abuse of the public trust. Instead, let me simply get to the vital thrust of this letter:

On behalf of the nearly half million members of Americans for Limited Government — and tens of millions of other equally appalled Americans of all races nationwide — I hereby demand the immediate termination of Contessa Brewer, Toure, Dylan Ratigan and any and all others involved in any way with the fraudulent “news” that ran in the 10:45AM segment of your August 18 broadcast.

You network has besmirched the dignity and honor of American people. You have endangered the life of the President of the United States. You have purposely fanned racial tensions. And you have deliberately lied to your own audience.

Failure on your part to act will be proof positive that you, your corporation and the corporation that owns you intended this deception. As such, you can no longer claim to be “press” in any sense of the word but will have crossed the line, becoming a political advocacy organization. That, then, becomes a matter for the FCC and the courts to consider the proper punishment for this gross transgression of the rules of a civil society.

Thank you.
