Much needed moisture!!

We are getting some much needed moisture. Had rain during the night, sleet about day break, and now it is SNOWING hard!! I love it. Cows have their calves up and going. Sheep won't lamb for another month or so, puppies are safe and sound, and lots of food in the pantry. What more could a person ask for? Oh yea, the generator needs a battery, but I'll bet I can do that in the snow.

Still just rain here. We'e not supposed to get as much snow as you guys farther west. I was just looking at the NE highway camera views. The one at Merriman looked the most wintery.

I would say we have every bit of a foot of snow. Wind must be blowing pretty good, as I can feel it down here. Spent all morning putting the Skidsteer back together, so I am ready to push snow when it quits.

We ended up with every bit of 15 inches of snow. Talked to a neighbor 10 miles southwest of us, and she says 10 inches there. Kilgore has about what we do, so I think it is pretty wide spread. Last night before I went to bed, it sounded like it was raining. All the snow melting out of the trees. As wet as the snow is, and with the rain before it, I am guessing we ended up with better then an inch of moisture out of it. So far this year, we have more moisture then we had ALL of last year.

We probably got between four and five inches of snow out of this storm. It was a nice wet snow, and some even melted late in the day yesterday. Glad to get it. :) This brings our total winter snow up to approximately 24" (two feet) or the equivalent of two inches of rain.

It's rained all night on and off here. Fields are soggy. It seems like a real good start to spring and much better than last year. I'm glad that you folks that need rain so bad are getting some moisture.
