We started chasing mustangs in 2004. (camera) This mare became my favorite when I first saw her.

What colorful pictures. And those 'tangs look pretty good on not much
forage. That first baby has double cowlicks....she'll be interesting to break,
or do you break them to ride?

I had heard that when mares fight they don't take a backseat to
stallions fighting. They can be very savage.

Faster Horses; In answer to your question.

Mustangs are managed by the BLM,, so they run wild. I'd like to bring that paint mare home with me. However, if I remember wright, the fine for just pestering them is 10 years and $10,000.00. So we just take their picture and are happy their there.

We've been keeping track of this mare and have pictures of four generations, including the mother. It has been fun just trying to figure out where they will be on the next trip out there. It's about a 200 mile round trip. There isn't much water around in the summer, which makes finding them easier. In the winter, sometimes it's a mystery where they hide out.
