My Cabinet

Finally got it home. It was given to me by a rancher friend that bought and is restoring an old 1850s home. It was in the kitchen. He was gonna throw it out. But I said....Noooo I want it. LOL
It needs a bit of work. And I GOTTA git rid of that BLUE paint!!!!! It's got a lil bit of trim missin at the top on one side. But that's no biggie. Then I think I'm gonna shorten it a little, plus it's got a lil cosmetic problems at the bottom that that'll cure. It's HUGE!!! Right now it's layin in the floor in my work room. Tomorrow I'll probably start the "fix it" process. Don't know what color I'm gonna go with, but I'm leanin toward barn red. With edges sanded to show thru to the wood. Not sure yet tho what I'm gonna do to it.

Any suggestions? LOL I"m wide open for them.

If it's from the same era as the house just the wood with a natural stain might be a pretty colour Lilly.

Do you know what kind of wood it is?

Lilly, for some reason I don't get the front pic but I have a pretty good idea. My granny used to have a cabinet like that, kept her hats in hat boxes in it  Anyway hers wasn't painted, the original wood.I'm a wood fan,I'd at least try to see whats under, then if your not fond of it paint it.

Jigs, camo seems to be in "in" thing now seen a living room set in camo yesterday....
