Oh, man, those are good. I really appreciate you sharing with us.
What do they sell for, Mrs. Greg? Do you have any idea?

I see lots that would make terrific gifts and some for my remodeled
basement.

He's 'been there, done that', you can tell!

He's pretty diverse, isn't he, with what he sketches? He started with cows and horses, and has now moved into a variety of subjects. My Dad has a pile of his pictures (my Mom keeps buying them for him), and now I've been gifted one of railroad tracks and elevators, a sight rarely seen in small towns anymore.

I've looked at his work on and off through the years, and he keeps his prices quite affordable for the average person. I'm sure I'll end up with more (thanks, Mom!) through the coming years.

Another good artist is Glen Scrimshaw, but he's a tad bit on the expensive side. A personal favorite of mine is Nancy Penner-Henn.

Well you better get to Tam's art gallery in Big Beaver she does some great stuff. I like Alan Sapp the native artist from North Battleford he captures like up north pretty darn close. Bernie Brown is excellent too. Darcy Shaver was a great artist too from the Big Muddy I got to title her 'Good Riddance' painting for her.

My all time favorite print is "Heading up French Glen" by William Matthews.

I had a really hard time finding it after I seen it the first time. The gallery I was at, had it labeled wrong "title" and then I couldn't read his name on the picture. I looked and looked online and at other galleries, finally seen it again in a western furniture store, and asked the name of the artist. Called around and found it for about 1/2 the price at another gallery, and told em I was on my way now to come get it "DO NOT SELL IT"!!! LOL

I was up to the Stampede this summer to take in the working cow horse competition, so took a run through the western art section of the Roundup Center, and wow, was there ever a lot of terrific art on display. I could have come home with way more than I have wall space for, but of course I couldn't begin to afford any of it, so that solved that problem. Of course there was also a lot of stuff I wouldn't have hung in the granery, even to cover the holes, but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder! It is a great place to spend a few hours and get some new favorite artists to add to the list.

Lilly, I really like that painting too. It has been in a couple of stores
here, but for quite a bit more money. When you actually see it, it
has some really neat colors in it, don't you think? Makes it so interesting to look at. I've seen another that fellow did too, that was good.

For Christmas our daughter got us "Cow Horse Country" by Tim Cox.
It is my all time favorite Tim Cox picture.

Go there and you can see it.

I like thses artists. Probably helps that I know them. Check them out. The opening one on Wayne Justus' site, "No Place I'd Rather Be" is a painting he made from photo's of me and Jingles Jr at the Artist Ride in 2005. He brought each of us a print, of it.

These are all neat, nice people.

Jinglebob, those were all good. Thanks for the links. For some reason I have never been much of a Gary Carter fan. Not that I dislike them, they
just don't do for me what some other artists do.

You can certainly tell that is you in the Wayne Justus work.
That is a really cool picture. Too bad I don't have 6 grand to spend
on it, or I'd own it.

Karen Bonnie really likes horses in water, it looks like to me.
The one with the horses (some are paints) crossing the water might
be the one I like the best, but they are all good. I had never
heard of her.

Again, thanks.

JB, ok, which one of the guys in the picture is you? That canyon you're looking off into looks just like a view on our ranch, I'll see if I can't dig up a picture of it and scan it in........really the only difference, is that there are more trees here than that painting has.

Loved the sketches, too, Mrs. Greg.

I'm a big Tim Cox fan, though.................he's just so awesome.

I also like Robin Gierhart (a local artist here)........does great western stuff, and also Kim Trickey (another local). She's got a painting of a little cowboy flankin a tiny baby calf hanging over at McDonald's in Springerville.......sure wish I had the $600 she's asking for that one, and a place to hang it!

those are some mighty nice pictures that gentleman does....sort of like the edge to the black and white!! nice...really nice
I, too, am a huge tim cox fan and one of my favorites shows a horse with back leg tied up and staring down the cowboy trying to "tame" him!! Just the look in that horse's eyes!!!
I am also very much into Larry Zabel and Gary Carter (hubby's favorite)!! Have a few Remington's and a Russell print here, too!!!

I'll bet you can buy a print of it, for a lot less. He gave me and Jr , each one. Mine is down getting matted and framed, as we speak.

He just nailed the horses and of course me. I complained that he could have made me younger looking and prettier too. He just laffed. Great guy. Just a cowboy who took up drawing and painting.

He can ride any of my horse, anytime! :D

Oh, and for those who didn't know, I'm the one, you can see the face on.
Jr is looking away.

I'm on Kid and Jr is on Shorty.
