My Kind of Heifer!!!

Hope Hanta Yo can get her pic up here for me-she took 20 minutes from the time I saw toes to have her calf up and sucking. Not in too bad of rig for wintering on hay and licking snow-she's off our Beastie bull from Fraser's-he's 7 now I really like the type of daughter he throws. If anything on this one I'd put a little better feet under her but other than that I can live with her. I'll post a pic in a month or so after she's on grass -you won't recognize her.

You're right, she could use a little more heel, but she ought to do in any beef operation. Is he the bull I saw out by your dugout when we were there?

Yeah that was him-we'll use him back on our Lad daughters and Lad back on his. Murray's used a son of his that threw some pretty good cows too that I might try.

She is a nice heifer. So, is the calf out of the same bull as your paralyzed heifer's calf...just curious since the calf's size in the pic doesn't look too "heifer friendly" to me. Could be the pic though.

Yeah it is-a heifer calf and the other one is a bull calf. I guess we'll see how things go with the rest. This heifer's calf is plenty big enough but she squirted him right out. When I was trying to take the pic she saw her afterbirth hanging out and started trying to kick it-she had quite a little whirl going on for a bit.

That's impressive she had that calf as quickly as she did. Hopefully they keep squirting them out like that. If not, somebody, who shall remain anonymous, may be up, night calving them, with the rest of the thieves and whores out there...couldn't resist .

That thief and whore will have to get some more of those instant fence hole repairs if he's going to be calving in the winter.

Well it won't be me checking them-as soon as the snow goes they're out on the grass till next winter. Days are getting long enough a check just before dark and one in the morning is good.
