My Summer

I finally got a chance to get back on the computer! I've been working all day every day, trying to get our custom haying done. We took on 1000 acres this year, with just one haybine and one baler. We would be caught up but the weather just seems to not want to cooperate. The rain we got this year has really taken a toll on everyone, we're selling cattle and one of our combines to get the bills paid. We had to lay off one of our hired hands yesterday, and the other one will be finished in October. I've been working for gas money, and a bit of spending money when I need it. I enjoy my job, and even if I didn't, we run a family operation, we're all in this together. I must say, I have gained a whole new level of respect for Dad. After all the tests and trials of the year, he's still out there everyday working hard as ever, and trying to act as though there's nothing to worry about around us kids. Now that's what I call a Hero.

My truck is in the shop again, I was driving down the highway and the housing inside my rear end split in two. That was a mess when I took the back plate off to look inside. Gears came out with the oil
 lol.

In one month I'll be going back to school to finish my grade twelve, it kinda hurts inside that my old friends won't be with me in my classes, or to talk to in the hallways at noon, or even to walk the stage when I finally earn my diploma. But a man is judged not by the challenges he is faced with, but by the way he handles them. You can't just quit because things get tricky, or don't work in your favour.

If you guys could manage a prayer or two to the Lord for some of the people that are worse off then we are with all this rain, it would be much appreciated!

Take care, and God Bless!

Nice to hear from you Alex and nice to know that your dad is
your hero. That's just so good. Shows maturity on your part.

Why won't your friends be with you in school? And you are
going into your last year. My, where has the time gone?

You bet--prayers from Montana.

I had gotten into a single vehicle rollover in December. I dislocated and fractured my radial bone, broke the tip off my funny bone off, and had ligament reconstructive surgery on my elbow. I couldn't go to school for a month because I was on painkillers and I had to sleep in a rocking chair for the first three weeks. This kept me from graduating like I was supposed to. So I have to go back to school and finish up this year
