My Take On Obama's Citizenship

If, at the time of your birth, both your parents were U.S. citizens and at least one had a prior residence in the United States, you automatically acquired U.S. citizenship with no conditions for retaining it.

If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16. There are no conditions placed on retaining this type of citizenship.

Since Stanley Anne Dunham was only 18 at the time of Obama's birth, she could not have resided in the USA for 5 years after the age of 16.

Why all the hoopla about a "Birth Certificate"?

And if a woman has lived all her life in Mexico- becomes pregnant in Mexico and sneaks across the border and has her baby in Brownsville, Texas- the kid is automatically a US citizen and afforded all the guarantees of citizenship- including native born status....

Oh- I'm aware of that- but I'm not sure the laws at the date of birth would carry---because the same issue came up on McCains birth being before the law that allowed him to be considered a natural born citizen--which Congress voted that the intent was there for the new law to supersede the old law...
It would depend a lot on how the knew law is written- been interpreted by the courts- and what the intent of Congress was.....

But I just thought it ironic- that your screaming so loud- when Jose living next to you- sired by a black Honduran communist-who's Mexican mother never saw the country before she snuck in to give birth to him- is now automatically a citizen- and considered natural born.....

I guess times change....

Even worse.....once that child turns 21 he can then legally bring all his family into the US.
