my visit with the Secret Service

well...it happened. my big mouth got my fat a$$ in trouble.

on face book, there was a heated discussion about Sarah Palin and Obama....one thing led to another, and then I made a comment about sharia law being pushed on America...and a reference to hunting and muslims.... well today the under sherriff and two Secret Service guys visited me.... a 30 minute interview, and they told me that I was not percieved as a threat, ....but I have a feeling they will be watching me for a while..... I was almost to pee my pants.... the one guy was a hard looking fella....just a chisled "warrior" look to him.... I was affraid to move to fast to wipe my nose or something, for fear he would come across the table and snap my neck.

a good example of the computer being a tool where you feel ten foot tall and bullet proof....I learned my lesson!!

seems to be going around.

Less than a week after a 22-year-old Jared Loughner shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in the head outside a Tucson supermarket, killing six bystanders and wounding fourteen others, the FBI paid a visit on the Springfield-area blogger behind "Long is Wrong" -- a now-defunct web site that criticized now-Congressman Billy Long, R-Springfield.

The sheriff who accompanied the FBI on the visit, Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott, told KSPR that the visit was part of a broader effort to identify "potential threats to members of Congress."

But if this is the biggest threat faced by Congressman Long, we have to admit to being none too worried. The blogger in question, Clay Bowler, took down his anti-Long blog soon after the election. And while he'd made a point of asking Long tough questions during the campaign -- and videotaping his answers, he says he stopped attending Long's events back in September.

Bowler, an avowed conservative, says the FBI visit was cordial. He videotaped the encounter and said the agent was polite throughout the brief encounter.

But Bowler says the FBI visit left him shaken.

"I don't sit 24 hours a day, seven days a week, thinking about Billy Long," Bowler said. "I stopped going to campaign events in September where Billy attended."

that is what irritates me... my comment was at muslims, like if they try to inforce a Sharia law on us...that I would defend us all... typical red neck bravado....they started asking if I would want to kill the president, or ever read about the Kennedy assasination...weird off topic stuff...

You'd sit down to a beer with him? I thought better of you. :D
I find it impolite to turn down a free beer....besides, I would get my chance to ask him a few hard questions...not the soft ball MSNBC stuff.

Jigs, was there any sign of remorse or them SS guys even feeling bad for questioning you? As if they were "just doing their jobs" and didnt agree with it?

they said they do a couplre of them a week. and at one point the guy said he would not want to live under Sharia law either, and understood that comments made in one light, are viewed differently in another...

I think once they got out here, and talked with me, they knew that it was a wasted trip.... but they did point out that me saying it, could provoke someone on the edge, to go ahead because of what I posted....

in hind sight, stupid move. looking forward...more thinkin, less speakin!
