Napolitano: Vets can be victims of right-wingers

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Sunday portrayed veterans as victims – not perpetrators – of right-wing extremism as she sought to combat the political controversy arising out of an April 14 Homeland Security memo warning that returning soldiers could be ripe for domestic terrorism participation.

“The report is not saying that veterans are extremists. Far from it,” Napolitano said on CNN’s State of the Union. “What it is saying is returning veterans are targets of right-wing extremist groups that are trying to recruit those to commit violent acts within the country. We want to do all we can to prevent that.”

What really has her scared is the fact that there is already a million man force of veterans walking around the country, all well trained and most well armed who disagree with her assessment of their ability to chose right from wrong. (Right of course, being "her" view of things). She should be worried as well as her "boss".

whats' with the "victim" crap?

if a vet speak out for what he believes, he is using his free speech rights.. and is a patriot

if a he crosses over the line and commits a crime he is a criminal,..

no need to put a whiny "victim" label on vets..

not one vet I know of is a victim,.. I rather be called an extremist then a victim..

Steve, what they are saying is that you were a victim of that mean old Bush.

His policies of sending you to an "unjustified" war, has damaged you mentally.

A little off topic, but I read a report the other day, that states that one in 4 woman in the "theater of war", are sexually assaulted or raped.

Does that qualify them to be "disgruntled", would they be looking at a higher % of females to be these so-called "Right-wing Extremists"

I bet they will just single them out and offer them the counselling they require and request!

What you have is the left is trying to portray themselves as victims and now they are trying to win the veterans back over once they alienated them.

So what she is saying is the vets are mind numb robots and will follow any leader who tells them to fight? Good GAWD. I know one vet who will NOT follow any leader. He knows what is right and wrong and does not just follow like a sheep. He will freely admit he is a rightwing racist radical extremist who is tired of his country he fought for turning into what he was fighting against.

one question....how much longer is this title going to get? I am getting where I cant remember all the terms. I am sure I left one off :?

yep, that's what she's saying, but fear not!

the liberals do not agree with what caused your pain, or mental illness.

"Vote for us and we will not put you in harm's way."

the whole report was political.

By putting one encompassing "label" on individual beliefs, you demonize the group to the point you don't want to be part of the group.

Vote Democrat, blame Republican.
