This is my second most favorite time of year in Alabama with spring my favorite. I just love fall. The leaves are mostly finished turning and most are still on the trees. The weather has been wonderful the last week with temperature in the day around 70 and not too cold at night. Sure, we have had a few frost and some cool days but this clear cool dry air has been refreshing. Most of all the crops are harvested except for the cotton and they are almost finished with it too. The cows are calving and the calves are sure having a good time in the cool fresh mornings. I need to be fencing but it sure is nice to sit in the swing under the old water oak and watch the leaves float down in the evening on a gentle breeze.
     :cry2:
Well if you were up here I don't think you'd see many leaves floating by- most have been blew out of the country by our gentle gales or are under 4" of snow  And you'd need your carharts and thermal long johns to sit in the swing
The other day when it was 20 Below, I was looking at the land values figures when I made the post to Milliron- and figured up if I sold all my deeded land, I could pay off my debts and be able to buy a little over a quarter section of that Florida $7500 an acre swamp ground and never worry about this cold again....Then I thought of all the people, the alligators, all the people, the bugs, all the people, the hurricanes, all the people, the snakes, and then I get claustrophobia in big towns, let alone cities....Decided these cool gentle gales and snowballs the Canadians are always sharing with us aren't quite so bad...
