Cold weather coming in here for thursday and thursday night . Down to 17 with sleet, freezing rain and snow. I guess we can hope for snow. It sure has been nice so far and I think the high wed is in the high 60's . It'll be quite a change.

We have snow forcasted for Fridayy.. Going to drop to 28 on Thursday and 32 on Friday for highs, was 60's all weekend (A bit warm for this time of year) Might have rain today through Wed.. Sunny right now so I guess I will load up the last roll of net wrap and go bale until it rains or until I run out of net or ground. Got 152 put up yesterday even with a late start a slow set back... Puts us up to just short of 900 bales... So I guess if I go all day I can get 1000 of them.... Where the heck am I going to put them all? Really looking foward to hooking up the baler and taking it to the dealer after the season and say, fix this thing... I know I need new pins in the belts, going to have to cut a couple belts as the lacing got torn... Dang those stalks are rough on balers..

Winter storm watch for
Virden - Souris continued

15 to 30 cm of snow is expected Tuesday.

The potential for severe winter weather exists over these regions.

A weather disturbance currently over southwestern Saskatchewan is expected to move eastward tonight bringing snow into southwestern Manitoba Monday night. At this time, snowfall amounts are uncertain but accumulations in excess of 10 cm are expected.

Meanwhile an intense low pressure system is expected to move across North Dakota Tuesday morning and move into southeastern Manitoba Tuesday afternoon. If the situation will develop as expected this weather system may bring 15 to 20 cm of snow into southern Manitoba and strong gusty winds causing extensive blowing snow and reduced visibilities.

Further information will be forthcoming in updated bulletins as the speed, track and intensity of this system becomes better known.

A winter storm watch is an alert of the potential development of severe winter weather. Persons in or near these areas should be prepared for developing adverse weather conditions and should listen for updated watches and possible warnings.

We have a winter storm watch in effect here as well. The wind is gusting up to 33 mph and it is 15 degrees. Calling for snow tonight and tomorrow.
This same thing happened last year. I'm glad it let everyone get back home from Thanksgiving at least.

Stay safe, everyone.

Yep- We're getting the same wind FH-but you guys didn't get our 4" of snow-- which surprisingly isn't moving or drifting much yet...But if we get another 8" as they say is possible in the next two days it could get nasty...Weather boys issued a winter storm watch and said it will be borderline blizzard conditions- depending on how hard the wind blows....

I'm one of those that likes to see a brown Christmas- and lots of rain in May and June instead of the white stuff....

This wind is out of the SOUTHEAST. Seems to always make it much colder.

Yep- Weather boys say about tomorrow night it will switch to the north and north west and get COLD--10-15 Below again.....At least its lot warmer here today than it was yesterday- warmed up during the night and is about 15- but that wind does make it feel chilly.....

This is my second most favorite time of year in Alabama with spring my favorite. I just love fall. The leaves are mostly finished turning and most are still on the trees. The weather has been wonderful the last week with temperature in the day around 70 and not too cold at night. Sure, we have had a few frost and some cool days but this clear cool dry air has been refreshing. Most of all the crops are harvested except for the cotton and they are almost finished with it too. The cows are calving and the calves are sure having a good time in the cool fresh mornings. I need to be fencing but it sure is nice to sit in the swing under the old water oak and watch the leaves float down in the evening on a gentle breeze.

Well if you were up here I don't think you'd see many leaves floating by- most have been blew out of the country by our gentle gales or are under 4" of snow  And you'd need your carharts and thermal long johns to sit in the swing

The other day when it was 20 Below, I was looking at the land values figures when I made the post to Milliron- and figured up if I sold all my deeded land, I could pay off my debts and be able to buy a little over a quarter section of that Florida $7500 an acre swamp ground and never worry about this cold again....Then I thought of all the people, the alligators, all the people, the bugs, all the people, the hurricanes, all the people, the snakes, and then I get claustrophobia in big towns, let alone cities....Decided these cool gentle gales and snowballs the Canadians are always sharing with us aren't quite so bad...

Well this will be my last post for a while. The next one will be number 1000 and I need time to study on what to post. I recon it should have some pictures and some sort of little story about what is in the pictures. I could take some pictures of the cotton pickers running this time of year or cows grazing ryegrass and wheat.
I am looking for suggestions on what to do for number 1000. What do think?

It really doesn't matter, because when you make post 1001, every post that you ever made will all say "1001" anyway. With the next post, they will all say "1002".

If you need something special, you could always post a picture of yourself sitting on your backporch "swang", modeling your southern-style fringless denim chinks. :)

Alabama; I think it would be MUCH more suitable to see a picture of your partner sitting in your swing wearing her southern fringless chinks!
