Nato pact to send 5,000 troops for Afghan polls

How many troops did these Nato countries commit when Bush was in power?

The Times of London is incorrect, I believe, on French participation, but the plot line is clear. No one in Europe wants to send more troops, especially not to fight. Even the British, who are fighting on the front lines, will not send more fighting forces, instead only volunteering police units for the election.

Lipstick on a pig. Hardly a success for Obama. These excerpts from the LA Times tell it like it is:

NATO announced Saturday that it would send about 5,000 additional troops and trainers to Afghanistan, a boost that President Obama hailed as "a strong down payment on the future of our mission" there, but one that failed to include the combat forces Washington had sought.

Conspicuously absent are the extra combat troops that the U.S. had requested, an indication of how deeply divided many NATO countries remain about the war effort and their role in it.

What's he doing that is putting him on the path to greatness, of course discounting the fact that he's already great?

You made a statement that he was on his way to being a great man and I simply asked what he was doing to make him so in your eyes. In true liberal fashion, you just dodged - exposing yourself as just saying crap again.

Accaully I just agreed with you.So now you can answer the question yourself...All I did was agree with your comment.....The reson I think he will is solely based on the fact that you have done a complete turnaround and now support the man, that in itself is a huge feat...and just that fact alone is enough to hold out much high promise for the future. There you go sandy ,I answered your question, now it is your turn...What incredible thing did Obama do to gain such strong support from you?

The man has, in such a very short period of time, caused more long-term damage to this country than what a handful of tin-horn despots, tens of thousands of terrorists, and millions of communists have tried unsucessfully to do for generations. By developing his own cult of personality, he has accumulated millions of gullible fools to support him and allow him to destroy the nation that Jefferson, Adams, Hamilton, etal created - and the beauty of his actions is that he is doing it not with bombs or an attacking army, he's doing it from within with the assistance of US citizens. He is truly a great man.

I can remember being told in school that some famous person said, "America will be destroyed from within." Guess I didn't put 2 and 2 together til I read your post, Sandhusker. And, I'm sorry to say
I think you are right.

But it is amazing how easily it happened. Almost silently..
I hope others take heed.
