NCBA Rolls Out Newest Member Benefit With Cabela’s: Just in time for holiday gift shopping - NCBA has announced a member benefit program with Cabela’s – the world’s foremost outfitter of hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear. NCBA members can now receive 15 percent off of all Cabela’s gift cards purchased through NCBA’s Web site, www.beefusa.org. The gift cards are redeemable wherever Cabela’s conducts business - whether in-store, online, or through the Cabela’s catalog.

“Whether it’s for holiday shopping or the hunting season, this program with Cabela’s is a tangible benefit that cattlemen can really get excited about,” said Steve Foglesong, a cattleman from Astoria, Ill., who serves as NCBA Policy Division chairman and Membership Committee chair. “When you look at the range of products Cabela’s has to offer cattlemen and their families, this discount can really add up in a hurry.”

Golly, I bet R-Calf wishes they had thought of this gimmick first. :)

REAL Cattlemen's organizations don't need gimmicks.

NCBA must figure that because of all the money cattleman have lost because of their policies, if ranchers don't get a discount, there won't be a Christmas...

The "roll over" auction seems to be a pretty big gimmick.

This is also the corporate interest (Cabellos) that is buying up more ranchland and converting to hunting/wildlife interests ( at prices that won't pencil out to legitimate cattle operations- making less owners and more corporate managers (serfs)) than any other corporate interest in the state...
To many cattlemen in Montana- the word Cabellos is a very nasty name.....
Another example of some NCBA leadership profiteering at the cost of the average cattleman...... :( :(

For the lawyers--they are the ultimate winners.

If those lawyers don't win a little we'll all be losers. It's beyond pathetic when you have to take your own government to court in order to try to make them do their job. Take a stab at my thread, "Question for Final Rule Supporters". That's just one point of many.

When the membership drives start here, you have to go outside of the cattlemen's world to get new members because every cattleman that wants to join already has.

When I was active, I have signed many a Lawyer, Doctor, Contractor, etc. that has no cattle.

I'd be willing to bet that well over half the NCBA members around here own no cattle at all.

Right or wrong? Can't say, but that's the way it is.....................

From NCBA membership letter...

"Since 1898, NCBA has been the only organization defending every aspect of the beef business environment, from Congress to activists to consumers, producing solid results for you."

"solid results"????? If there is anyone that doesn't believe beef has lost market share, lost producers, and that producers are receiving less of the consumer's dollar, please state your case!

BUT..."defending every aspect...from consumers..."??????????????????? When an organization leads our industry against the consumers that give their dollars for our product, there is no wondering why we have the above problems. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
