These are some pictures from the North Dakota Stockmen's Assn. sponsored All Breeds Cattle Tour. It is an annually held tour that rotates around North Dakota. It is a great tour, and very enjoyable to see different breeds of cattle and different areas of North Dakota. The NDSA does a great job of organizing the event.

Sorry the photos aren't better, please don't judge the quality of the cattle by the photos...

I'd like to thank the tour hosts and the Stockmen's Assn. for putting on such a great tour!

Cheers---

Day 1, Stop 1
Lazy JS Ranch, Bowman, ND

Silha's are world renown for their Quarter Horses, but they also have a nice set of Polled Hereford Cattle. The Silha's hospitality was warm, but the day was crisp and cool. The Silha's have been in business for 99 years, in SW North Dakota!

Day 1, Stop 2
L Double Bar Ranch, Amidon, ND
The Lamborns have a nice set of commercial black/black baldy cattle, and a super set of horses. They displayed their outfit in one of the most scenic and historical places in the area, the Aus Ranch. It was the areas stage stop for the Dickinson-Miles City Stage Line.

Day 1, Stop 3
Brook's Chalky Butte Angus, Bowman, ND
Brook's have one of the larger Angus herds in ND. They are a very functional set of Angus cattle, that are produced with the commercial producer in mind. Co-owner, Steve Brooks was the President of the American Angus Assn. several years ago.

My camera decided that it was tired of playing nice in the cold and didn't really want to work well, so I was only able to get a couple of photos.

I bet these guys would take your bid!

Day 1, Stop 4
Stuber Hereford Ranch, Bowman, ND
Stuber Ranch was established in it's current location in 1909. They are co-owned by another past president of a major breed association, Roger Stuber. Roger was not only president of the American Hereford Assn, but also president of the National Cattlemen's Association.

Stuber's have a set of very nice Hereford cattle, that have a great balance of EPD's, eye appeal, and structural soundness.

Day 1 Stop 5
Soreide Charolais, Bowman, ND

Again, my camera decided not to work, so I didn't get any photos  of a really nice set of Chars.

Day 1, Stop 6
Spur M Red Angus, with guests McGee Red Angus, Bowman/Rhame, ND

The McGee brothers run two seperate herds of Red Angus cattle in a very commercial fashion. As a matter fact, I would guess they run their commercial and registered herds together. They have a very sound, deep made, muscular set of cattle. They also have some pretty snazzy set of horses! Their folks are also very talented musicians who are part of the Wagoneers.

Day 1 Stop 7
White's Angus Ranch, Bowman, ND

White's have a herd that seems to have a lot of growth potential bred into it, while being functional.

Day 1, Stop 8
Mrnak Hereford's, Bowman, ND

This 100+ year old family operation displayed a tremendous set of Herefords. They had their Denver carload set of bulls there, and you could not pick out a bad one of the bunch.

Whew! You were a busy little gal.
Thanks for bringing the tour to us. There were some nice cattle there.
And you mentioned a couple of folks that I didn't know raised horses.
I really liked the horse pictures...(of course).

Thank you for the nice complements.

North Dakota is home to lots of good cattle. They are sometimes overlooked because they are sandwiched between Montana and South Dakota!

Faster Horses, on the first day we did not make a stop that didn't have their horses tied to the fence. The whole tour I think I only saw one four wheeler! Soap, Jinglebob, Tap, and others would certainly appreciate that! As a matter of fact, I think folks were as interested in advertising their horse as their cattle.

I would love to just take a horse through Lambourns. They were a great stop. They have such a nice set of commercial cows in such a scenic setting. I personally enjoy looking at great commercial cattle just a much if not more than I enjoy looking at great registered cattle. The commercial operator is the backbone of this industry. I think Lambourns were probably as good of an advertisement for Brooks' as Brooks were.

Next year the ND tour will be in the Dickinson area. Without a doubt, it'll be just as good as past years.

Great pics TTB. And what a great idea, doing an all-breeds tour like that. We've been thinking of doing something similar with our grazing club, hitting all the members places in one day. Those Herefords of Mrnak's look absolutely incredible. I wouldn't think twice about buying Herefords like them. Just look at the depth in that yellow heifer - WOW.
