Any good recipes for Fresh oyster stew or chowder?

I got quart of oysters. Mom usually make a soup out of them but she spent a night in the hospital Wednesday and got a Cat scan Thursday so I thought it would be nice if i could surprise her. Dad doesn't care for them much so it's only her and I that really enjoy them.

I think it'd take the Food Network to make something good out of oysters. Hope your mom's doing well.

I throw the oysters and their water in a pan with and a half inch or so of butter, 4 or 5 shakes of worshestershire sauce, a couple pinches of black pepper, a fat pinch of tarragon, and a good pinch garlic powder. Cook it all together for at least 5 minutes and then add how ever much milk you want. I get the soup good and hot and then add some instant potatos to thicken it up just a bit.
