A purchased some hay from a local farmer. He delivered it and asked if we needed any help. He had asked before so I found somethings for him to do but just for a day. He was gald to drive a bit of distance to come here just to work a few hours.
As we get into this winter we need appreciate our health, life and happiness. Just this past winter I asked retired carpenter to help me build a small building. That was almost a year ago and he is calling asking for work also.(now I have to put that on ice also) Our neighbor had just retired from a ship captain career. He has spent 27 years working to pay off his farm now had to wait more than a year to go back to work and send his wife back to work also into two different states. He does not live high on the hog but only raises hay and has it custom baled.

No inflation right? Lots of folks are struggling with heating, medical, insurance, and other bills. Health care costs have gone nuts.

I have all kinds of work. Just can't afford the overhead that goes into hired help.Beyond the wages I have taxes, workman's comp insurance. It's better for me just to bid jobs high and do less of them. With hired help the trailers are priced cheaper because We need steady business.I'm hopeing this will be my last winter building trailers.I have no interest in building them anymore a job at Walmart is more appealing. With the health issues from welding and painting it's not a job I want for my kids.
