Mr Lilly spent some of the afternoon at the shop making this bit. It's not exact...but it's like one that was used to train TP. And hard to find. This is his first attempt...I think it looks perdy dang good. We'll see how it works tomorrow maybe if it's not floodin.

Nice bit, were you able to get the ground dried up a bit?

It's dried up some....not enough. LOL Here at the house tho..we live on a sandhill. So even after all that rain she can still ride. It's the cow pasture that's in horrible shape. Amazing how different the ground is out there compared to here at the house.

LOL Mr Lilly is a jack of all trades...master of none. He'll tackle any project that's thrown at him. But this was an easy project for him....he's a machinist.

Easy or not it's obvious he is also a perfectionist as you are. If Mr Lilly built that in an evening why does he still have his day job? :D

Because his day job has benefits and retirement that'll come along in the next 3 years or so. He's worked this long at it...might as well hang with it till he's got his 20 years in.

That looks like fine craftsmanship to me Jersey Lilly.

Here in Oklahoma, our friends are horsemen and women and they
use bits with square mouth pieces and just love 'em. I'd never
seen one before. Maybe I can get a picture.

I've seen several with square mouth pieces. Some are just curved, broke in the middle and lay on the tongue. Others the square piece is twisted. Little bigger than quarter inch....maybe 3/8 in square. Yes very neat bits.

First off, Wow, Mr Lilly did a great job. Fantastic as a matter of fact.

This bit looks like something that is fairly available around here. I am wondering why not so much in your part of the country or maybe there is something I am not seeing?.

I like the broken bits with just a little more leverage. It is the first step to going really light IMO.... The ultimate goal being bridleless in my book.

Well she made her first two runs on him with this bit Yesterday. He done real good. Ran two 16.4's in a big pen. I'll hafta find my piece of paper where I wrote the times down...and I'll try to post at least one of the videos soon.

This is the second run of the day. He had a small slip at the first. Ran a 16.406. Her earlier run of the day was a 16.485.

Then she had a 17.208 on Tank in the Novice horse class and won the 2D and enough money to cover all her entry fees for the day. Can't complain about that at all.
