If I were going to buy a perple truck, I'd wait for a used one - you know, low resale price. Trouble is all those tough pizza delivery miles on perple vehicles.

You can get a 4500 or a 650 or a frieghtliner f60 or 70 for less money and have way more truck... Insurance is dirt cheap and you can write the whole thing off on your taxes.... 8)

Here a few years ago, when we were lookin for a used 7.3 F350 we went to several dealerships. Most of them immediately tell you "no they don't have anything like that, but we DO have a new model sittin on our lot" One lady sales person is insistant about it, so I gave Mr Lilly a look that said, "ok I"m gonna play along" Let this woman drag us out to the biggest best F-350 sittin on the lot, ya know the one, right smack dab in the middle sittin side ways with lots of room around it. We let her go on and on, about all the features it had. And I looked at her and said "Lady, I made myself a promise a long time ago" to which she said, "What kinda promise" and I said, "Well, I promised myself I was never gonna buy a vehicle that cost MORE than MY HOUSE!!!" She had this shocked look on her face and we turned around and walked off.

We did eventually end up findin a used one like we were lookin for, for $10,000.

Just last week a friend of ours was in need of some money. Not really wantin to git rid of the truck, but we had already said, "if ya ever decide to get rid of it, let us know"
So I now have a 1996 F-250 sittin in my driveway that almost looks new. Runs like a top, is a standard (which the other one wasn't) and is paid for. And gets 18 to 20 mpg pullin a 26 ft horse trailer down the road. Can't beat that.
