New home sales: 'Really good news'

If home prices decline further, you'll see more buying activity. What you're seeing is the result of home prices starting to come down to where they ought to be before goverment creates false markets.

I saw that article Reader- but hesitated putting it up- knowing that the rightwingernut crazies don't want good news- as that doesn't support their fearmongering and hatemongering and paranoid running around peeing down their own legs in fear...They want bad things- and want Obama and the country to fail -- so they can promote their style of anarchy-- so they'll probably spin this story 7 different ways too....

If Obama succeeds, this country fails. Therefore, it is a given that we need Obama to fail, and fail miserably.

When a sale is made afte a stalemate, either the price went down or the bid went up. The increase in home sales is because prices have went down. Actually, it is a good thing because that means the false pricing created by goverment intervention is beginning to receed.

Remove that one phrase from OT's posts and he'd have even less to say than he does now.

Good news is always welcomed. But I wouldn't want to stop righ there. I'd want to find out also what happened to new construction starts, what happened with foreclosures, what happened to the sales of previously occupied houses. That would tell me much more. But as I said, I am glad to see that sales are up in that one category anyway and that prices have come down somewhat.

If you were selling your house for 3% less than what it was worth a few months ago, you wouldn't consider this good news at all.

If you are buying, this is great news.

If you are like me and not doing either, it is just more to wade through that doesn't affect my quality of life either way. The house I live in has not changed and I am not changing homes.

Quite a few Canadians are buying some of those houses up.

I wonder how many other foreigners are buying?

the Midwest home sales are driving the market, I doubt foreigners are making enough of the purchases to matter..

With double digit inflation coming, money sitting in banks is going to be losing value fast.

I have bought some land. No homes. Just a bit more diversity of my portfolio for retirement some years down the road. It is amazing what a few nickels can accumulate to be over the years. It is only going to be capital gains when it is sold. Maybe by the time that happens Pelosi won't be sitting their licking her lips.

You arethe one tossing out the names and hate mongering but you get by with it becasue yoiu are a moderater of less than good scruples!!

Wonder how many of those houses purchased are being bought by fdirst time home buyers, with less than stellar credit?
Or how many are merely upgrading and thus leaving their old house on the market!!!
What is the median income
of the people buying houses?
Just to buy a house and dump another on on the market is really not doing a lot !

At least they cannot run for President.

You could be Osama bin Laden's son or daughter and still be eligible nowadays, by what you liberals say.

The safeguards that were put in place to prevent those with dual loyalties have been ignored, precedent has been set.

yes, I have researched it quite a bit.

And nobody has been able to show me where the definition or intention of "Natural Born Citizen" has been changed.

Comical- you could put a post up on this site about whether a bear sh*ts in the woods- and a few of the rightwingernuts would turn it into a where the bear was born thread....

Do you folks lie awake nites too- shivering in your boots over this birth issue :???:
I haven't seen such paranoia since I used to haul committed patients to the State Mental Hospital at Warm Springs- and few of them were as much nutcases as some on here are.....

And this is now the Republican Parties "base" :???:

The birth issue is not quite as muc paranoia as the democrat stir on Palin.

Although the number of posts are getting up there.

I've never seen any requirements for bears addressed in the constitution of the U.S. I had ancestors who fought and died for this country and this constitution.

The good news is the market is moving again. Most likely those selling are experiencing a loss, but it is a gain for those who can now buy. It will take time to see how this will work out. It is definatly one of the areas that shows a positive.

I am not a home buyer, so I am more eagerly watching other things. When you get to be my age, the means you have left for retirement are more important.

I don't see the home market sales rising as necessarily a good thing.

Investors got nervous about the false economy that came about before the Dot-Com Bust of Clinton's and the housing market went gangbusters afterwards because it was mainly the only thing many investor's felt comfortable with.

We all know what happened after that.
