That is really coming along nicely!!!
I'd be getting real excited about now if it was me.

Just curious, are you going to finish the interior or have log walls
throughout the house?

Old Dog going to run a new line underground from our meter pole to the southwest corner and bring it in that way. Hubby had a different idea, but is following the advice of our lineman.
Need to get that overhead line down. It worries me.

Faster we are going to use sheet rock for the main rooms and cement board for the bathrooms and other rooms where water will be. Like the mudroom.

Had a couple people say we should not stain it, but put on a UV protector and sealer.
Friend who worked in the timber years ago said to look at chinking it too.

What do you guys think??

Wow, they are moving fast ILH. Looks great. :D

Can't wait to see it once it is completed. You all must be really elated that things are clicking along so well.

Underground Service will look the best.
The few Log Houses I've done I drilled the Logs for the Electrical Plugs/Switched as they brought the Out-side walls up - - I also drill the Water Lines (Hidden in the Logs or under the house) - took some work and Planning but nothing Showed...

Could have all those pesky services on the bottom floor and candles/lanterns upstairs. I hope you keep some log wall on the inside and don't cover them all with drywall. It is going to be a very nice looking house.

Thanks HD. :D Only a few snags, but figure that is normal for building.

Sorry Old Dog I misunderstood your question.

Yes the guys erecting the logs were drilling the holes for the eletrical outlets and light switches. They did miss one light switch on the plan, but are going to correct that.
It is all marked.
The kitchen is going to be framed out for the cabinets.
All the water lines are going to come up from the floor and be hidden in the walls.

per only the framed walls will have sheet rock. the crew cut slits into the logs next to the framing so we can slide the sheet rock into it.

I'm of the opinion that having some log walls and some drywall
walls would be perfect. Breaks up the monotony.

Gee, we'll have to have a ranchers.net get-together there and
give you a house warming!

Crew got the windows and doors in yesterday. Just in time for 2 different thunder storms to come rolling through.
Thank goodness we have a wet/dry vac.

Waiting for the crane. Should be here in about an hour to start putting the roof trusses on.
Hope they get as much of the roof on as possible. Suppose to have more thunder storms today and 60% chance of rain showers tomorrow.

Roof trusses are up.
I would download the pictures, but the crew should be getting back from lunch shortly and there goes the power again.
They want the roof on as badly as we do.
