Six people were shot inside a Mid-City nightclub Friday morning just hours after a triple shooting in Bywater.
Police investigate the scene where three men were shot in the Bywater area. Two men were pronounced dead on the scene, the other was taken to the hospital.
According to police who were stationed nearby, the incident happened just after 1:30 a.m. at Club Unlimited. The bar's unarmed security guard flagged police down and told them a man armed with a weapon had just forced his way into the bar.
As the guard was telling authorities about the man, they heard several gunshots from within the bar. In all, four men and two women were injured in the shooting. One of the men received a gunshot wound to the head and remains in critical condition.
The suspect escaped from the scene amid the confusion as several patrons ran from the bar, police said.
The bar does have security cameras, but police do not know yet if the incident was caught on tape.

Police said the incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Kentucky Street.
When police arrived at the scene, they found two men inside of a car with gunshot wounds to the head. Both were pronounced dead on the scene. A third victim was shot multiple times in his torso, but is listed in critical condition. The car had Texas license plates.
Sources close to the investigation told Eyewitness News that detectives believe the perpetrator was getting a ride from the victims when the shooting took place.
Police have not established a motive in either shooting, but said people were cooperating with the investigation.
Mayor Ray Nagin was also at the crime scene Thursday night and issued the following statement on the murders:
"Last month, I stated that one murder is too many in our community, our fragile city that is still on the journey to recovery. Tonight, I am deeply saddened that our young people continue dying in our streets.
"As I continue to work to address the systemic problems that have plagued our criminal justice system for decades, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of addressing educational and social problems that have plague our community for just as long.
"I commend the clergy for stepping up and working with the city to help our youth find a way out of a life of crime. We must all work together and unify as a community to save our children from violence."
