Here are a few pics I took last weekend, thought maybe y'all would like to see what we've been up to!
Al, saddling up Blue Boy
Hubby, stretching to get the bridle on Badger (this is the sire to the filly in my siggy picture)
Here the filly is, at about 10 months old
Hubby and Al waiting on Hubby's brother and nephew to get saddled up and ready to ride
The Chuck Wagon
Bringing the cattle to the corral, Hubby is on the near side, Al is trotting up on the far side, to get to the gate and turn them in
Cattle in the corral, Al's cow, Blondie, and her calf are in the foreground
Working on the branding iron heater.......
Ground crew ready and waiting
Al flanking the first calf
Blondie's calf's turn at the irons
A nice big heifer calf that about tore the ground crew up, kicked Hubby and Al both, was just a real "booger"
Another shot of Al's pair, after the branding
Turned out to pasture
Al's 4-H steer, Wheezy, on the scale last Sunday--584# of Brangus beef....ADG 10.5#
And his crossbred 4-H heifer, Bandita, getting her turn.....she weighed in at 508# this week...ADG 7.5#
