OT, you do realize that your constant, "party of NO", and "congress is dysfunctional" mantra reveal your true political leanings, not that anyone didn't already know.

What would you have the congress do? Give us a steady stream of new laws each and every day with more and more layers of federal government employees to implement and oversee them and law enforcement to make sure the people obeyed?

Unfortunately, the answer to that is, yes, you would like that.

Some of us believe a smaller federal government is what the country needs. Personally, I'd like to see the congress meet for a couple of weeks a year and then go back home and work in their districts the rest of the time. Under normal conditions, they could return to DC for emergency matters. Of course, today that's not necessary either as The King already knows what's best for the American people.

The world is much too complex for "part-time" Congressmen... Even about 1/5th of the states have full time Legislatures... Too many things happening and too fast in this day of instant news and instant around the world communications....

I have to agree with one of the comments in last nights Montana Congressional debates... Altho he is not my candidate John Lewis put it well when he said " a paralyzed Congress has left unelected bureaucrats to make decisions that harm rural Americans"... Inability of Congress to act and one small segment of Congress just saying NO to everything has given the Administrative branch more power and will continue to do so until they learn to put aside the partisan bickering, use compromise to move forward, and make moves to limit administrative power (no matter which party is in power)...
We need more Congressmen honoring their oath to their country rather then their oath to guy named Grover!

As usual OT, you're wrong on just about every count. And while what candidate John Lewis said sounds sweet to the ears of those who wish for others to take care of them via a system of ever-increasing and more complex laws (people like you), the truth can be understood with the slightest of reasoned thought.

What we're reaping today.....unelected bureaucrats (the EPA being just one example) making decisions that hurt ALL Americans, not just rural Americans, is the direct result of one party control of congress for over 40 years.....that's to say, a congress that most definitely was not paralyzed. If only we'd have had a powerful party of NO when so many liberal policies were being instituted over the decades by a donk-controlled congress and being forced upon presidents of both parties who could not use a line-item veto.

The world is no more complex today than it's ever been, and even if one made the case that it somehow is because of today's rapid communication, what's that got to do with the need to have a full time congress? Jesus OT, how did mankind ever get along without a congress? Again, your inclination to look to Washington to solve every friggin' problem reveals what a big-government groupie you really are.

Both parties are guilty today of giving presidents power not outlined in the Constitution and thereby not honoring the Constitution's theme of separation of powers. This is why so many conservatives find the Tea Party's platform attractive. Tea Party candidates wish to follow the Constitution's original theme and meaning.

And when one party says NO to just about everything the other party proposes, it's because they honestly believe that what the other party wishes to do goes against their beliefs, and sometimes against the Constitution. So despite your protestations, they are indeed honoring their oath to their country and their voters. People like you who whine constantly about the "bickering" in Congress are either naiive or willingly being stupid. It's what Congress does, has always done, and always will do.

But relax fat man. The country is changing in a direction that you most definitely welcome.....more gubmint handouts (like those farm subsidies you pocket year in and year out) and the electorate is becoming permanently stuck to the gubmint tit. Your side has won, unfortunately.

Finally, our system of goverment at the federal level is structured with a Judicial Branch, a Legislative Branch, and an Executive Branch. There is no Administrative Branch and you sound stupid every time you use the phrase. Well, on second thought, scratch that. Keep using it.
