Hey all,

Im new to the site and really like what ive seen so far. I own a small farm in Louisiana. We raise Corriente cattle and quarter horses. We also grow soybeans, wheat, rice, and milo. Im looking into switching alot of my land from farm to start raising braford cows.

Welcome aboard.

Switching over to cow is alot like bull riding. :D

First you fill your mouth with all the marbles you can fit in.

Then you start spitting out marbles.

When you have lost all your marbles you ready to get into the cattle business. :wink: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Ya a good paying job should be a prerequisite to get into the cattle business anymore. :shock: :D :cry: :cry:

Careful BMR, them there's fighting words. If you post this on Macons CT forum you will have oodles of "producers" telling you how much profit they are making free and clear, in fact getting rich off the there cattle... :lol:
I guess "we" don't know what the [email protected] we are doing.. :roll:

Welcome to the forum Robin.. :wave:

Welcome, Robin. I agree with Justin.
We're getting ready to (semi) retire and we thought having a
few Corriente cattle might be kinda fun. Having been team ropers,
we always appreciated the Corriente. (Well, I wasn't a team
roper, but Mr. FH and our daughter was...I just ran the chute;
announced and secretarie'd the ropings, you know the WORK part :shock: :wink: :p )

Looking forward to some pictures!

I am kind of interested in the pot and what you would make 45 gallons of. What is your source of heat and how big of a ladle would go with a pot that big.

this is a sugar kettle that some friends of mine used for a jambalaya in omaha when LSU won the CWS.
