Alec Baldwin apologized Friday for homophobic tweets directed at a reporter who had gotten on his bad side, but so far Capitol One, the company he does commercials for, has refused to comment.

"My ill-advised attack...had absolutely nothing to do with issues of anyone's sexual orientation,” Baldwin said in a statement sent to the gay rights group GLAAD on Friday. “As someone who fights against homophobia, I apologize."

Capitol One did not respond to multiple calls and emails from FOX411 to several press representatives on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday asking whether or not Baldwin's Twitter rant would affect his role as a Capital One spokesperson.

Baldwin tweeted after James Gandolfini’s funeral on Thursday: "[I’d] put my foot up your f**king ass, George Stark, but I'm sure you'd dig it too much,” and, "I'm gonna find you George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I'm gonna f**k you... up."

Baldwin’s messages were aimed at reporter George Stark, who wrote a story claiming the actor’s wife, Hilaria Thomas, was tweeting during the funeral.

The 55-year old actor sent out the offensive messages from his @ABFoundation Twitter account, according to screen grabs published online. Baldwin disabled the account following the rant but it has since been restored – minus the offensive tweets– and it seems business, for Baldwin, is back to normal.

But some have pointed out that while Baldwin’s homophobic slurs were similar to TV chef Paula Deen’s racial slurs (she admitted to using the N-word 30 years ago), the fallout is not. The 66-year-old chef was dropped by all of her major business partners, including Target, Walmart, the Food Network and Sears, while so far Baldwin seems to be getting off scot free.

“Companies know the media won't beat them up for keeping Baldwin on board, despite his violent threat and homophobic comments,” explained Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture at Media Research Center. “Why? Because he's liberal and the same rules don't apply.”

Gainor predicted Baldwin likely won’t see any repercussions.

“Deen isn't even conservative, but she is known for Southern cooking and the left hates anything having to do with the South. Baldwin has also polished his liberal bona fides by attacking conservatives. So Baldwin gets a perpetual get-out-of-jail-free card, no matter how insane his actions become,” Gainor claimed.

A non-scientific poll taken by Sodahead.com asked users if they believed Baldwin should lose his endorsement deals following the tweets. More than 80 percent of respondents said yes.

Back in February, similar controversy swirled around Baldwin when a New York Post photographer claimed the actor fired racial slurs at him during an altercation. The photographer said Baldwin called him a "coon" and a "crackhead," allegations the actor vehemently denied.

Baldwin’s rep did not immediately return FOX411’s request for additional comment.

I tried to warn a guy on here who used to defend Obama that most of the liberals he was defending would probably hate him just as much as they hate US conservatives ..

let this be a warning to all the moderate democrats.. independents..

liberals are using you... liberals don't like you... and once they find a way to use you to promote their hateful agenda they will even if it means destroying you...

there are some columns on the internet that blame Paula Deen's southern conservative upbringing fro her being so "vile" as they put it..

I have been stationed down south,.. nicest people I have ever met,..
my wife still talks about the poor family next door and the lady she was befriended by at the laundry-mat..

after living in liberal Connecticut and all the nastiness of those snobs, she was ready to return home as soon as my tour was finished.. South Carolina helped change her mind...

According to friend who has had personal business dealings with Baldwin, he is the most self-centered, and unapproachable person on the planet.

He once left Baldwin and his entourage (3-4 women handlers) standing on the tarmac at a Boston airport screaming and cussing like a 16 year old thug with no immediate transportation back to New York.

That is a story worth telling details on.

probably the only thing better then seeing that would be getting a you-tube style video of it and then it raining a bitter cold rain and watching the idiot cry...

I do not have any dealings with capital one or any company he is a spokesperson for but if I did I would cancel it in a very vocal way ... in the most convincing outrage for gay rights you have ever seen...
