For a few weeks now I've been thinking of stepping out of my realm a little bit and getting myself a filly with the idea of training her for working cowhorse competitions. I asked a gal at church who competes about some possible sources for a good prospect. She was able to point me in the right direction with some names and numbers so today I started calling around. Not having much luck I remembered a horse I had bought one time from Faster Horses' daughter and son in law. Well I called them and boy was that ever the wrong thing to do. FH's SIL had just what I was looing for. Bred right, colored right and priced right. Yeehaw, I thought I was doing good but he kept talking. He allowed as to how they were selling out and we should come have a look at some mares that were a 3 in 1 package. Well I called up the Hostile Native just to see if I could get a rise out of her and holy smoke the joke was on me. She said,"I'll be home in a little while let's go look". UH OH. My usual voice of reason and sanity has done been abducted. We got out there and upon seeing the little filly I called about I'd made my mind up on her. Now we get to the mares. We ended up buying two of the 3 in 1 packages and also another broodmare. I'm pretty excited and looking forward to picking them up tomorrow. The bloodlines are pretty neat. Names on the 3 generation pedigrees consist of Mr.Gunsmoke, PeppySan, Leo, Wilywood, Orphan Drift, RocketBar, HollywoodDunIt and ZanParBar. As you can see I'm pretty excited and still in awe of the Hostile Natives escaping good sense. Today was completely out of character for her.
