We have already witnessed huge history. Tomorrow is just the swirl on the cone.
I'm wishing I had chosen "pollster" as a profession. Business would be better than cattle, and I could complain about taxes.
There has rarely been a more divisive election. People are extraordinarily fired up and the stakes are higher than normal for we citizens.
Personally, at this point, I'm cheering for the system, which dampens change. I sure hope we don't get a "veto proof" majority in the Senate. That would be pretty scary.
I'll give the young man a chance to show me. But we in animal agriculture face four difficult years. The first two will be very tough. We will be regulated to the max. There may be slight relief after that.
Sen. Obama's roots are clearly with people who think we should "starve in the dark". Farm without any of the last century's innovations. Get our fuel from solar panels or windmills.
Which do I need more desperately?--electricity from a windmill or gasoline and diesel fuel for my farm tractor and pickup truck? Lets build windmills, for home heating and such, but farmers and ranchers need OIL. It is a huge part of our expense.
Sen. Obama says he will favor some drilling. But, clearly, the Dems will oppose that in Congress. I doubt that Obama will oppose his party on this one. After all, we are converting to a planet powered by pure white light.
McCain says drill, but he would face lawsuits and an unfriendly Congress. So, we aren't likely to be saved either way.
I dropped my ballot today, absentee. McCain. I took a long time to decide, and there are some hot local races that took a while.
