“vulgar, disrespectful, violent thug” with “no respect for our laws.” He said he would have followed the man to his car to get his tag number but “feared for [his] life.”

To bad there is no sound...The guy looked pretty calm and proper to me...Awful calm for a "violent, disrespectful, violent thug" telling someone to go f*** yourself ...

What is the difference if you hand deliver the ballots or mail them in :???: ... I've delivered my wifes ballot - some of the kids, my uncles and a few more folks from the retirement home to save them the $.70 postage... My wife hand delivered mine this morning...

I'd like to hear the rest of the story on this...

sounds like the perfect way to have voter fraud... a filled out ballot supposedly from someone else being and deliver and turned in.... :( :( [/b]

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Admitting his confidence in Cook County ballot integrity is shaken, State Representative Candidate Jim Moynihan (R-56), was shocked today when he tried to cast a vote for himself and the voting machine cast it for his opponent instead.

voteballotbox“While early voting at the Schaumburg Public Library today, I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” said Moynihan. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”

While using a touch screen voting machine in Schaumburg, Moynihan voted for several races on the ballot, only to find that whenever he voted for a Republican candidate, the machine registered the vote for a Democrat in the same race. He notified the election judge at his polling place and demonstrated that it continued to cast a vote for the opposing candidate’s party. Moynihan was eventually allowed to vote for Republican candidates, including his own race. It is unknown if the machine in question (#008958) has been removed from service or is still in operation.

“Clearly, I am concerned that citizens will be unable to vote for the candidate of their choice, especially if they are in a hurry and do not double check their ballot,” added Moynihan. “I cannot say whether or not this was intentional, but Cook County voters deserve better and should not have their right to vote suppressed.”

The 56th District covers portions of Schaumburg, Bartlett, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, and Roselle.

He sure has a lot of relatives OT. :(

I'm sure Senior Citizens groups and Retirement/Nursing homes often hand deliver rather than pay the postage... Its no difference than taking someone's mail to the post office for them- instead here you take it to the Clerk and Recorders office and save the postage...

You claim to be from Montana- you should know Montana operates that way- 1 ballot mailed to 1 person.. That ballot is returned to clerk and recorders/election office where the clerk verify's the signature and that the person is a registered voter and marks off that that person has voted....

We aren't in Kansas anymore OT. What is done in Montana might not be done that way in other states. They don't verify who signed the person's name, just that the signature and who it was sent to are the same.

True- and they immediately know if someone shows up at the polls or two ballots with the same name come in.... And according to the Clerk and Recorders/Elections officers that type voter fraud has been virtually non-existent in Montana (maybe not totally- but so nonexistent that it has no impact on elections)...

I suppose you support LR-126 to shorten the time period allowed for registration and not allow election day registration or the 3 days prior to the election... :???:
We will probably cancel each others vote then... :p
I had to laugh the other day when the local radio station were interviewing the State Senator (Alan Olson-R) that had introduced the referendum-- and it was brought up how many of the business organizations, senior citizens groups, unions, government workers groups, etc., etc. were opposing the referendum--- BUT no groups had been organized to support it....The only one that claimed to be had done nothing and has not reported getting any donations....Olson's answer was "we just can't seem to get any support- nobody seems to care about the issue"...
NO SH*T SHERLOCK- Those folks realize that if no problem exists- why pass another law making that nonexistent problem illegal...
