So GW was lying again in his final press conference :???:

President Bush disappointed there were no WMDs

President Bush's final press conference yesterday was incredible in a literal sort of way. President Bush took the opportunity to defend his presidency but also to express disappointment when he might have expressed regret.

Bush said, "There have been disappointments...not having weapons of mass destruction was a significant disappointment. I don't know if you want to call these mistakes or not but things didn't go according to plan. You might put it that way."

Provide a link to that statement!
Knowing your and your tendancy to only show what you can change to make yourself look better I question the truthfulness of the whole thing.
WHAT OLDTIMER IS NOT TRUTHFUL??
Nah, yep, for sure the best way to tell he is lying is to look at what he says!"

There were WMDs found in Iraq, just not the major stash that intelligence indicated. There were also facilities found that could serve no other purpose but to manufacture them, along with missiles fitted with warheads that experts say were designed to carry chemical and biological weapons. Anyone who thinks Saddam never had any WMDs is a moron. He had simply destroyed them or whisked them out of the country before the invasion began.
The thing that bothers me the most is not so much that the intelligence was faulty, but that people continue to parrot the myth that Bush lied about WMDs in order to take us to war. Think about it. If he knew there weren't any WMDs then he knew that fact would have to come out eventually. Did he think no one would notice? Only the most feeble minded could believe such a thing. Besides, if he lied about it then so did every other intelligence agency in the world, along with Bill and Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Joe Biden, countless world leaders, and just about everyone that had been paying attention since Saddam came to power. Were they all lying? Well, if you believe Bush lied about it then the only logical next step is to say that they were all lying, since they all said the same thing. Funny thing is I've never heard anyone say that they were all lying, only Bush. What's up with that?

Or maybe it is classified, that they were moved to Iran, or another muslim state.

Would the government run out and tell you, if that was the case. probably not.

If it is classified that means even Bush could not tell and would have to say what he did

It'll be interesting to watch what Obama does. Now that he is privy to the actual intelligence.

Obama has already abandoned much of his "campaign rhetoric", as he puts it, and is moving to continue many of the Bush policies on Iraq and other foreign policy areas. Seems he doesn't think Bush and Cheney are as stupid and evil as he once did. Others would be wise to wake up and follow his lead, or they might be left looking like the fools they appear to be.
It's one thing to sit around the table, or write a column, or type something in a forum, or run for office and make speeches about mistakes others have made and what can be done to fix them. It's quite another thing to have access to the same information a president has and see the world as it really is. Obama seems to be finding this out quickly. Good for him.

Obama now has his advisors in place and I'm sure the opinions they have on any given subject differs vastly from BO's preconcieved notions before he had such advisors. They might just keep him in check.

My hunch is that Obama will not be as bad on security issues as we were all afraid of.

What I fear most from him is his social programs that will probably be like the ones the Democrats have pushed for that have lead us to the current mess. And they will take years before we know just how bad they hurt us. 10 or 15 years from now when I am ready to retire I fear it will not be pretty.
