Weather bureau is predicting some wickedly nice northern lights late tonight or towards morning.... Not sure how far south they will be visible...

I'm not calving yet- and I've seen lots of northern lights- so think I will stay tucked in a warm bed...But thought some may be interested if they are out and about.....

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPACE WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER HAS
RELEASED INFORMATION THAT A POWERFUL CORONAL MASS EJECTION FROM
AN AREA OF LARGE SUNSPOTS WILL REACH THE EARTH LATE TONIGHT. A
STRONG GEOMAGNETIC STORM IS EXPECTED WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN
AURORA DISPLAY BEFORE MORNING AND POSSIBLY CONTINUING THURSDAY
NIGHT.
THE FULL MOON COULD INTERFERE WITH VIEWING BUT SHOULD BE
LOW IN THE WESTERN SKY NEAR SUNRISE.

nothing quite like checking cow's on a crisp night, snow crunching underfoot, northern light's dancing and welcoming a newborn calf into the world :D


P.S. that crisp night and snow underfoot is why i calve in may/june :wink:
