not opening my check book for Trump

According to documents submitted to the Federal Election Commission, Mr. Trump, whose campaign has just $1.3 million cash on hand, paid at least $1.1 million to his businesses and family members in May for expenses associated with events and travel costs. The total represents nearly a fifth of the $6 million that his campaign spent in the month.

Does Donald really have to "pay" his family to stand by him?

Much has been made about how unprepared Donald Trump is for a general election — and then his campaign revealed Friday that it estimates there are only about 30 paid Trump staffers on the ground nationwide.

Don't you think Bill's and Chelsea's (and whoever else's) travel expenses are paid for out of Hillary's campaign money?

He just this week extinguished his $50 Million loan to his campaign. If it comes out of his pocket, he can pay whoever he wants. While the rest count on their donors to pay all expenses.

Sounds like New York values to me. If the Benghazi Butcher can do it, so can Drumpf. There's that odor of cowshit in the air again.

I know that the Clinton's are bought and paid for,.. and to my knowledge I have NEVER supported any of them.

so why would I start supporting someone who is just the other side of the same coin?

Hillary is not the only other politician who pays their family's campaign travel expenses. I would say most everyone does it.

You asked the stupid question:
Does Donald really have to "pay" his family to stand by him?

I would think you know the answer is NO, he doesn't have to. But to my knowledge if the family travels with a candidate in an official capacity, the expenses are paid by the campaign funds and is expensed thusly.

I have a buddy that flies Senator Shelby around during his campaigns. He has to list each passenger, each passenger's association, and even how many cocktails those passengers drink during a trip.

Wonder if Bush had to pay for Barbara Bush's expenses when she was stumping for him? Yea, I know, stupid question.

Did Ted Cruz have to pay for his little kids travel expenses while flying around the country with him?

If you read the campaign disclosure you would easily see it was far more then just travel expenses.

Trump is very good at promoting his brand and seems to only trust his family for critical advice.

but at some point he will have to deal with the "optics" of his self (brand) promotion.

and this report was not a good sign.

I just don't understand the point of this thread at all.

Trump has spent just over $50,000,000.00 through the primaries til now, and Hillary has spent upwards of $250,000,000.00.

What's not to like about the way he has spent so far?

Good point, Mike.

Since it has come to being between Trump and Clinton, my thought is that she has gotten her wealth by using her government positions, dating at least back to converting that ONE thousand dollar investment in cattle futures into one HUNDRED thousand $$$$$. My guess is the actual cattle producers were making far less, or even losing money on THEIR investments in futures at the time. Wonder if those looking for 'blame' in the cattle futures markets thought to investigate the politicians involved????

Then, there is the ugly history of Ms. Clinton enabling her philanderer husband in his disgusting abuse of women. Again, Trump may not be a shining example of a decent guy in that arena, but no history of him abusing women like Bill C. did!

Meanwhile, Trump may not have lily white ethics as a businessman, but he IS most likely playing that game with equals, rather than Hilary's positions of political power over people.

While I abhor cheating and dirt, whether in politics or business, Trump has done less harm to us than Hilary has demonstrated she is willing to do in gaining her personal wealth, which I believe she will continue despite already have 'stolen' more money than most families could use in a lifetime! She and her family, obviously like the extremely lavish life-styles their government positions have provided, and apparently want it to get even more opulent!

So, if it comes to choosing between them, I will vote for Trump, not excited about it, but choosing the lesser of evils.

Unfortunately, mrj, choosing the lesser of two evils is precisely what has gotten us to this point....a peanut farmer from Georgia, a milquetoast buffoon from Kennebunkport, a slick talking sex addict/rapist from Arkansas, another buffoon from Texas, and a black Muslim communist from Kenya, Canada, or Hawaii, take your pick.

I'm feeling particularly jaded this morning, but if Drumpf leaves Cleveland with the nomination, it's over. No chance he beats the Butcher of Benghazi.

Drumpf received something like 12 million votes during the primaries from Democrats, who will most assuredly vote for the BoB in November. We'll not only lose the White House, but more than likely the House & the Senate, and SCOTUS. The fix is in if Drumpf becomes the nominee.

There's your lesser of two evils. Kiss the 2nd Amendment goodbye, and the rest of your freedoms and your money as well.

This ain't gonna be pretty.
