During the days when he fought the Environmental Protection Agency tooth and nail, newly confirmed EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt worked in coordination with Oklahoma oil interests, according to newly released documents.
The Center for Media and Democracy on Wednesday released emails it received from Pruitt’s former office from his time as Oklahoma’s attorney general. The group had gone to court to get the documents released. Last week, a judge gave Oklahoma until Tuesday to release the documents.
Senate Democrats had said they wanted to delay Pruitt’s confirmation vote in light of the impending disclosure, but the Senate’s Republican majority moved forward and confirmed Pruitt with the support of only two Democrats.
