To require Congress to specify the source of authority under the United States Constitution for the enactment of laws, and for other purposes.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

January 9, 2009

Mr. SHADEGG introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on Rules, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

doesn't this just say that for every new law they have to state where in the constitution they get the power to do it from??

if that's what it says..... well GREAT!!!!!
then there needs to be a clearinghouse of all the unconstitutional ones already passed!!

This is a job for SCOTUS.

Lawmakers have no business trying to decide Constitutionality.

If they even think it MIGHT NOT pass muster, drop it.

We have plenty of Laws and Regs on the books now that aren't being enforced.

right now we have the courts making law, often with congress passing laws they have no authority to do,.. so it would be a good start on eliminating laws and regs that allow the courts to make law..

but it won't happen,
