Are the children in schools any less important than the money in armoured cars, guarded by armed personnel

I need to know what the majority thinks before I can answer.

Thank you.

Good point. You certainly wouldn't think so. The libs think highly enough of them to hand out free condoms.

So you would rather your good looking 17 yr old son, who might happen to be the STAR student and quarterback( or whatever ) come home with the clap, AIDS or something of the sort?

Or your daughter, mother of your future grandchildren, come home with
Chlamydia trachomatis .. gonorrhea or syphilis???

Face it, people , literally, screw up sometimes......

If you or I have done our job as a responsible parent, we should have NO problem whatsoever knowing that our child knows how to and would consider using a condom.

Yes, first responsible choice would be to cool down and wait.....but....we all know that might work 1% of the time!!

I swear sometimes, the knee jerk comments you people make are dangerous

You certainly assume alot. Perhaps I wasn't clear. I don't feel it's the school's place to interfer with what type of protection or birth control that minor children should or should not have. Going behind parent's back should warrant someone an ass kicking.

While I think Kola-rectal has a valid point about wanting the kids to be protected if they make a bad choice and decide to become sexually active in High School ( hell a LOT of them are in Jr High now) it is still VERY wrong for the school to be handing them out.

I'm am IF'ing a situation...not assuming.

You are making an assumption about what I said and we all know what happens when you ASS-U-ME!!

But with the crappy job parents seem to be doing this day and time---hence all the social issues we have-- SOMEONE has to do it. Schools are given the task to prepare these kids for life...and by howdy that part of life...a BIG one!!

Well, maybe not so ' BIG' for some of you guys, but you get my drift~!

Just to be absolutely clear, are you advocating schools provide BC without (crappy or not) parental knowledge or consent?

Real parents that teach morals are more than 1% effective. I wasn't having sex at 17, my wife wasn't having sex at 17. I can't think of a girl I seriously dated having sex at 17.

Responsibility isn't just the parent's job but also the young adult. If you have sex, there are consequences. It is a part of life. I would rather them be educated in consequences, than how to try to circumvent them. It is not just the diseases and young pregnancy that I am worried about. It is the long term effects that sex has on their psychological being. It can be a very good thing in the correct relationship, or very harmful in the wrong one.

Some things are just universally true whether you choose to believe it or not.

By the way, what is the kid suppose to do when they end up with diseases and pregnant after you told them to use a condom as it would solve all their problems. If you don't think pregnancy is possible with birth control, I have 2 girls I can introduce you to and another in about 6 months. Everyone one of them on different birth control.
