In the same week that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced that her department was going to review the cases of 300,000 illegal aliens in deportation proceedings and allow "low priority" cases to stay in the country and receive work permits—a move House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith called a "back door amnesty"—President Barack Obama's approval dropped to an all-time low of 44 percent among Hispanics, according to Gallup polling data released today.

That is a drop of 41 points from the spring of 2009, when Obama's approval among Hispanic Americans peaked at 85 percent (in the weeks that ended April 26, 2009 and May 17, 2009).

Obama's approval among Hispanics dropped 5 points last week alone, falling from 49 percent in the week that ended Aug. 14 to its new low of 44 percent in the week that ended Aug. 21.

review the cases of 300,000 illegal aliens in deportation proceedings and allow "low priority" cases to stay in the country and receive work permits

and who gave her the authority to be above the law?

we are , or at least was a nation of law. a nation where no one can break the law, not even the president.. so why can she take justice into her own hands. and facilitate the breaking of the law.. ?

I sure would like to know what our resident law man thinks about the President and his lackies taking a coffee break when it comes to enforcing US immigration laws? He seem to have a problem with it when he thought it was Bush doing it so come on Oldtimer where is the outrage when Obama announces he and his Administration are not going to enforce immigration laws?

Should and Can Obama be impeached for openly refusing to enforce US laws?

It's official. Despite failing to pass the U.S. Congress, the federal DREAM Act is now law. U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has told Congress she will stop deporting students who meet DREAM Act criteria.

Napolitano and her top immigration aide, John Morton, director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), have said as much in the past. But Napolitano's letter to Congress sets the Obama administration's position in stone. Alleged DREAM Acters won't get the boot.

U.S. Constitution Article 1 Section 1:
ALL legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives.

wooops - it looks like the Constitutional scholar/professor violated the very first word of our Constitution!

The question is well the Congress who held a vote on the Dream Act and rejected it now stand up and take Obama to court and have his backdoor amnesty bill ruled as un constitutional on the ground he over stepped his Constitutional power? More important is WILL THEY IMPEACH HIM over his continued overstepping of his powers?

Obama is walking all over them and they are sitting there like a bunch of idiots taking it. :x

I guess it isn't just Hispanics-
Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 21% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-five percent (45%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -24 (see trends).

Just 14% believe the U.S. is generally heading in the right direction. That's the lowest level of the Obama Administration.
Forty-five percent (45%) believe the government should cut back spending on highways until the budget is balanced. Forty percent (40%) disagree. A commentary by Michael Barone looks at how private sector bus companies are providing a less pricey alternative to high speed rail. He concludes, "So the private sector provides cheap intercity transportation while government struggles to waste $53 billion. Please remind me which is the wave of the future."

Overall, 42% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's performance. This is the president's lowest total approval rating since March 16, when it was also at 42%. During his entire time in office, President Obama's rating has been lower only once, on June 18, 2010. On that day, it was 41%.

what ever happened to our local pollster quoter?
