Obama Admin Illegally Funding Pro-Abortion Kenya Constitutio

A Congressman says the Obama administration is engaging in illegal funding of Pro-Abortion and Pro-Sharia Kenyan Constitution using taxpayer dollars, in direct conflict with U.S. law. Despite denials by the offices of VP Joe Biden and the U.S. embassy in Kenya, Rep. Chris Smith says there is proof that the White House is funding the Yes Campaign to get the Constitution approved next month.

“There is no doubt that the Obama Administration is funding the ‘yes’ campaign in Kenya,” [Rep. Smith] said. “By funding NGOs charged with obtaining ‘yes’ votes, the Administration has crossed the line.”

“Directly supporting efforts to register ‘yes’ voters and ‘get out the yes vote’ means the U.S. government is running a political campaign in Kenya. U.S. taxpayer funds should not be used to support one side or the other,” he added.

Could this be why the President of the United States of American should be a Native born citizen with no ties to a foreign country? :? :x

You don't think the US has a long history of spending money to get certain governments in place around the world :???: or influencing elections :???: You've apparently been asleep for the last 60 years... :p

From Cuba, to Honduras, Viet Nam, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Congo, Turkey, Haiti, Panama,Guatemala, Brazil, Ghana, Nicaraugua, El Salvador, etc., etc., etc.... And thats only the start of the list of those that some of the CIA records have been released on...There is possibly and I believe probably numerous more- even democraticly elected countries- that we have had influence in changing....

One of the reasons the CIA was set up by Truman and expanded by Ike and about every President since- and answers only to those that need to know- is to conduct covert operations while the country and administration maintains "plausible deniability".......

Its plumb legal- as long as they follow the rules that came out after the Church select committee-- and keep those on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence informed....

A part of U.S. law known as the Siljander Amendment makes it illegal for foreign assistance funds to be used to lobby for or against abortion.

The U.S. Embassy in Nairobi this week released a statement saying that unnamed Kenyan leaders have alleged that U.S. Ambassador Michael E. Ranneberger and the embassy are providing funding to members of parliament to support the yes campaign or are intimidating opponents of the constitution.

"These claims are categorically false, and those making such allegations are lying," the embassy statement said.

The U.S. Embassy on Friday said it has provided about $11 million in support of constitutional reform in Kenya, but that an investigation into the funds found that nine of more than 200 subgrantees supported the "yes" campaign. A spokeswoman said the embassy has since suspended or concluded those nine grants.

Congressmans all upset over the US supporting the party that supports the new Constitution that allows a woman a choice on what happens with her own body-- BUT for years we've supported groups and governments with planes, rockets, ground to air missiles, chemical weapons, ammunition and everything else...But that was okey dokey....

Were you guys screaming as loud when the US was supplying Saddam all types of weapons including chemical weapons so he could beat the government in Iran that we opposed...Or while we were sending in weaponry of all types to Osama bin Laden and his followers in Afghanistan to take down the Soviet Union troops... :???:

yes

Were you complaining about "Nation building" during past administrations?

Were you complaining about past administrations not having respect for the Rule of Law?

We all know you were, but you seem to be defending it now.

You must be one of those "prinicpled" Democrats.

Just think its quite comical of this Congressman-and his supporters- that he doesn't give a care about influencing governments by funding the killing of hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children by supplying them weapons of war-- but now that we support a group that supports the version of their new mandated constitution that gives a woman a choice on what she can do with her body - he's all against it...
Pure Partisan Politics.....

What about you, are you against breaking the law? Or are you going to continue to defend Democrats who do it, using the 2 wrongs make a right argument?

I ain't defending everyone-- just laughing at the Hypocrisy of the whole situation...And I had read the article about the embassy earlier... Looks like if there is any "lawbreaking" it was being done by the Kenyans- and corrected by the administration/embassy when they found out there was a problem...

I know you are not defending EVERYONE. You rail on Republicans for the same things that you defend Democrats on.
