Obama Bait and Switch

Obama is the king of bait and switch. Did it in primaries vs general election. Did it with Campaign financing.

And now he is working on down playing all the things he promised. He ran as the Messiah that could save the world but now he wants people to give him a break and realize he is but just a mortal man!

Obama Lays Plans to Kill Expectations After Election Victory

Confident in an Election Day win, the campaign looks to lower supporters' expectations on concerns their hopes of 'change' are unrealistic, a senior aide says

By Tim Reid, The Times of London

Barack Obama's senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency if he wins next week's election, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve.

The sudden financial crisis and the prospect of a deep and painful recession have increased the urgency inside the Obama team to bring people down to earth, after a campaign in which his soaring rhetoric and promises of "hope" and "change" are now confronted with the reality of a stricken economy.

One senior adviser told The Times that the first few weeks of the transition, immediately after the election, were critical, "so there's not a vast mood swing from exhilaration and euphoria to despair."

The aide said that Obama himself was the first to realize that expectations risked being inflated.

In an interview with a Colorado radio station, Obama appeared to be engaged already in expectation lowering. Asked about his goals for the first hundred days, he said he would need more time to tackle such big and costly issues as health care reform, global warming and Iraq.

"The first hundred days is going to be important, but it's probably going to be the first thousand days that makes the difference," he said. He has also been reminding crowds in recent days how "hard" it will be to achieve his goals, and that it will take time.

"I won't stand here and pretend that any of this will be easy -- especially now," Obama told a rally in Sarasota, Florida, yesterday, citing "the cost of this economic crisis, and the cost of the war in Iraq." Obama's transition team is headed by John Podesta, a Washington veteran and a former chief-of-staff to Bill Clinton. He has spent months overseeing a virtual Democratic government-in-exile to plan a smooth transition should Obama emerge victorious next week.

The plans are so far advanced that an Obama Cabinet has been largely decided upon, with the expectation that most of his senior appointments could be announced shortly after election day.

That was an article a few days before election but there has been reports on TV about his advisers starting to work on a plan to lower peoples expectations. Even his victory speech mentioned his needing more time.

Obama promised the world to get elected but in reality he knows he can not do it. To bad his blind followers like fff were not smart enough to realize this before they voted! [/b]

Obama may be able to find the weapons of mass destruction and keep Bush from being a liar.

they demand equal rights, but as soon as you point out a simple thing like "a gay guy could find Obama's ass" they get all pissy and whine about being treated equal.

it is no different than commenting how well a big chested gal can float....

I watched a show last night that analyzed why the Republican party has taken the arse kicking they have in the last 2 elections.. The people on the panel were all Republicans- and were commenting about how the Repub party can revive/survive...

The number one problem is with the loss of so many younger folks-and minority's- and Reagan Republicans/Democrats... The "base" is down below the 30% mark- which they said is not enough to ever be a majority power again- with the Repubs now losing ground even in the midwest.....

The concensus was that the Republican Party needed to diverge itself from the extremist social and religious issues and return to the party it was before...
As one lady explained- remember when the Republican Party ran on the issues of balanced budget, fiscal conservaty, less bureaucracy, and keeping Government out of peoples lives, religions, and business's--(a more Libertarian philosophy)...
BUT like she said- the Republican party changed and has now evolved to the point where the key issues of their "base" are promoting a certain type of morals and religion, being bedroom police, and telling people how they should live their lives...
And until they change- they will never be a Party of majority power again.... :(

The Republican have veered hard right to balance out they hard left the Demo's took> The republicans need to get back to being conservative. People will soon tire of the Dem's as they raise taxes, push social issues, weaken the military and assume the country "wants to be force-fed" their agenda! Dem's have a long history of going to far and losing their momentum>

Its ok for the queers to push their agenda correct?
And until they change- they will never be a Party of majority power again.... :(

Its ok though for the queers to be indoctrinating our children and grandchildren with things like taking field trips to gay weddings, having them sign pledges as kindergardener's supporting homo's, mandatory reading why tommy has 2 daddies. Things like demanding teachers take off their wedding rings and not discuss married life all the while demanding these teachers to teach tolerance of homosexuality and even to incourage the children to try the gay life style before they are critical of it. Let me say this no teacher wants to incourage any of my 12 grandchildren to try homosexuality.

Which partie lacks values and ethic's come on oldtimer step up to the plate. Which one do you want your grandchldren taught? Christian values or the gay lifestyle. Foget it you proved what you are made of like all the rest of the libs. I do believe its called double standards and a reprobate mind :!:

Well Sandman- you must live in a sad part of the country- because while they promote tolerance- our school boards and teachers promote family and family unity (no matter who makes up the family) with numerous family activities (Donuts for Dad- Muffins for Mom, Grandparents Day, etc. etc.)...
Maybe you should spend some time serving on your school board...

As was shown in California- where the ban against Gay marriages passed -but Obama also won big time-- those type of social issues don't have to be the centerpiece of a party platform for the local folks to handle them...My feeling is that promoting one type of national religion or national social mores is not the Federal governments or a National political parties job...
