BARACK OBAMA

Obama Pretty Blatantly Lies About Single Payer at New Hampshire Town Hall

"I have not said that I am a supporter of a single-payer system," Obama tells the crowd in New Hampshire.

The Wall Street Journal's Washington Wire, August 19, 2008: "Obama Touts Single-Payer System for Health Care":

Barack Obama said he would consider embracing a single-payer health-care system, beloved by liberals, as his plan for broader coverage evolves over time.

“If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system,” Obama told some 1,800 people at a town-hall style meeting on the economy.

In related news, we have always been at war with Eastasia.

Talk radio has already had a field day with this.

How can you liberals defend this crap? What else is the man lying about with Obamacare? How can you believe anything he says?

I guess there were a few lies in his townhall meeting.

Rachel Martin and Jake Tapper report:

President Obama today suggested that the health care reform legislation for which he’s pushing has been endorsed by the American Association of Retired Person.

“We have the AARP on board because they know this is a good deal for our seniors,” the president said.

At another point he said: “Well, first of all, another myth that we've been hearing about is this notion that somehow we're going to be cutting your Medicare benefits. We are not. AARP would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare, okay?”

The problem?

The AARP hasn't endorsed any plan yet.

The country's largest advocacy group for Americans over 50 issued a statement after the event saying, "While the President was correct that AARP will not endorse a health care reform bill that would reduce Medicare benefits, indications that we have endorsed any of the major health care reform bills currently under consideration in Congress are inaccurate."

anybody notice the little girl that asked the question,

Julia read the following question off a piece of paper: "As I was walking in I saw a lot of signs outside saying mean things about reforming healthcare. How do kids know what is true and why do people want a new system that can help more of us".

Well Julia, you can usually tell the truth from fiction, when you know that you were planted into the crowd to ask, just that question.

Notice her mother to her left.

obama-planted-question.jpg

Another "coincidence" is that Julia said she lives in Malden MA and Kathleen Manning Hall's campaign contributions list the occupation "Legal Asst, Looney and Grossman LLP" and a home address in Malden MA:

http://fundrace.huffingtonpost.com/neighbors.php?type=name&lname=Manning+Hall&fname=Kathleen

Looks like she donated $636 to Obama in 2008.

But wait, there's more:

http://www.city-data.com/elec2/elec-MALDEN-MA.html

This lists donations to Obama of $230 on 6/15/07, $250 on 9/28/07, $500 on 9/30/07, $300 on 3/2/08

http://fundrace.huffingtonpost.com/neighbors.php?type=loc&addr=16+APPLETON+ST&zip=02148

On that link we have the $636 previously mentioned from "Kathleen Manning Hall" but we also have $1355 donated to Obama by "Kathleen Hall, Legal Assistant, Looney & Grossman" at the same address.

(as an aside Looney and Grossman loves Democrats - their employees donated $12,101 in total to Democrats and $0 to Republicans)

Back to Kathleen's Facebook Page, here are some of her Facebook friends that I googled to see if they were Democratic insiders:

Martha Coakley, (Democrat) Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts http://www.marthacoakley.com/

Adam Parkhomenko, former aide to Hillary Clinton, Democrat running for VA House of Delegates (who has the support of the Brady Campaign, President Clinton and Wes Clark) http://voteadam.com/

Addisu Demissie, National Political Director of Organizing for America and former Ohio Get out The Vote director of Obama for America http://www.theroot.com/views/roots-talented-ten-addisu-demissie

Adrienne Elrod, Chief of Staff to Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) http://www.politico.com/blogs/anneschroeder/0609/Seen_celebrating_Adrienne_Elrods_birthday_last_night.html

Alan Rosenblatt, Associate Director for Online Advocacy at the Center for American Progress (and HuffPost blogger) http://www.americanprogress.org/aboutus/staff/RosenblattAlan.html

Alayna Van Tassel, Budget and Policy Director for MA Senator Pat Jehlen http://www.linkedin.com/pub/alayna-van-tassel/5/8ba/b80

I could go on and on but I think the point is clear - the cute question about "mean signs" was read from a pre-written note by the daughter of a Democrat political insider who is know to President Obama.

Any defense from the liberals? How bout you, OT? Do Obama's lies bother you in the least?

If you had listened to Obama during the campaign, the work study sessions with Medical Professionals and members of industry, and again during the drawing up of the bills and hearings on the bills he has consistently said that " he is open to look at anything-nothing is off the table-- and that nothing is written in stone"......

And it appears the only support for a single payer system comes from the far left- and would stand no chance of passage....

I think thats why none of the proposals contain a single payer system-- nor during the drawing up of the proposals was there much discussion on a single payer system....Two of the bills contain a government supplied option, but allow and rely on the majority of folks that now have insurance to continue to keep getting it from private carriers - the third (the Baucus/Grassley bill) will probably not even include a government option...(Which personally I think may be a mistake because I don't know if you can create enough competition with the monopoly the insurance companies have become without one)....

Now I get it. The Democrats think the Republican are planting people in all the meetings because they are!

When you've go to resort to BS to promote your agenda, I think it's time to reevaluate that agenda.

OT, the man says he is not wanting a singlepayer system - but he's on tape saying that he does! The sob is LYING!!!!!!!!!!! Why do you defend a bold-faced liar?

He and several others have said they think it would be the best system-- but it isn't even in the hopper....

Interestingly- the only rallys and demonstrations that have been held in Montana- are the ones wanting a single payer system- which have been promoted by a group that is led by several Doctors....

she must have went back in time and put that picture of her and Obama on her Facebook page.

Eleven-year-old Julia Hall asked: "How do kids know what is true, and why do people want a new system that can -- that help more of us?''

The question opened the door for the president to respond to what he called an "underlying fear'' among the public "that people somehow won't get the care they need.''

The girl later told the Globe that picking the president's brain was "incredible."

"It was like a once in a lifetime experience," she said.

Julia's mother was an early Obama supporter in Massachusetts during the presidential election, so she had previously met First Lady Michelle Obama, the Obama daughters Sasha and Malia, and Vice President Joe Biden.

"This was my first time meeting Barack Obama, and he's a very nice man," Julia said. "I'm glad I voted for him."

So that justifies him lying about his position? It doesn't bother you that the sob is lying? What is his positon, OT? Does he want singlepayer or not?

He didn't really lie. I was just the typist on the teleprompter who couldn't remember which position Obama took when. :D :D :D

Uhhh - "we're looking in to that but............" Don't you remember that over and over during the election? Obama gave you his assumed position on an issue without being informed - or - he gave himself an out with weasel words. Take your pick. It is a lose/lose situation either way and the people voted in a loser.

As I said--He and several others have said they think it would be the best system-- but it isn't even in the hopper because there is not enough support for it....
I disagree with single payer- but also think the only way you can put any competition on the insurance industries monoply is to offer a government option (if its good enough for the Congress, retired military and government workers- it should be good enough for the public)- and for thousands of those that the insurance companies have let fall thru the cracks...

Sandy- you never did tell me if you paid your NCBA dues- since your backing of the monopoly the insurance companies have is exactly like the NCBA's backing of the Packer monoply--which are almost identical in scope except for the fact the insurance companies have more in the system involved to screw over- and thereby profiteer from....

Where did you dig this up hypo. Dam man you are good. I mean really good. Absolutely incredible. I knew they were pitching him softballs but this really adds fuel to the cause. Dems just got busted doing exactly what they were accusing real Americans of doing. I might be new but you should be an investigative reporter. Kudos on a job well done.

I know what you said, OT, and that is the problem. You're diverting from the lie Obama told - you're trying to take the discussion in another direction and I'm not biting.

"I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal healthcare program" Who do you think said that, OT?
