Obama Blew It!

WASHINGTON – In a serious blunder that could tip the balance of next week’s midterm elections, President Obama said on Tuesday that the nation’s Ebola policy should be based on science and facts rather than fear.

Across the country, Democratic candidates sought to distance themselves from the President’s incendiary remark, especially in states like North Carolina, where science and fact have record-low approval ratings.

Carol Foyler, a Democratic consultant in Colorado, said she was “smacking her head” at the President’s controversial comment. “He’s unpopular enough as it is,” she said. “Aligning yourself with science and fact is a surefire way to alienate millions of Americans.”

I can't tell, were we adhering to scientific standards with the military quarantine or the civilian non quarantine?

I find considerable objection with a quarantine, but it is overwhelmingly supported by biological and economic science (this just in, Obama doesn't tell the truth). A quarantine is so overwhelmingly justified for economic science reasons that we could compensate the quarantined Americans very well, or not grant return to America without an offshore quarantine.

accroding to the news.. (msnbc I think),...

the military is a bunch of young guys and they may not be able to control themselves,.. or follow orders... so they were ordered to a manditory 21 day quarintine..

but a hero nurse is able ot know if she is ill or not,.. just like the hero doctor... :?

where they come up with thier thinking is beyond me?

The White House, though, has left open the door for the Pentagon to impose its own policies, arguing that the military and health workers are two entirely separate issues.

Hagel noted, for instance, that many of those in the military are not "volunteers" for the Ebola mission.

so a guy putting up a tent in an area fenced off with razor wire is more likely to get Ebola then a nurse who is covered in vomit?

yep... volunteers get a magical cape...

A question- Why do all rightwingernuts hate folks that volunteer? Especially professional folks that take 6 months or a year(s) out of their lives and go somewhere to help other folks?
I was thinking about this question the other day--Is it like why rightwingernuts hate teachers- are most professional folks that volunteer liberals like the right claims all teachers are ?

I still have never got a good answer to why most teachers are liberals-- so now why are most the volunteers liberals :???: Do no rightwingernuts have the education or experience-- or do rightwingernuts worry more about $$ and material values than actually helping out folks :???:

Volunteer for what? You mean like some of us that volunteer to go around on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day to hand out presents to the under-priviledged kids in the area?

I don't think anyone hates us..................

Why would you ask a stupid-azz question like that? Oh Wait!! I forgot!!!!

The "Right wingers" did do and still do much for charitable work, many churches had soup kitchens, Many philanthropists had money from "rightwing" activities such as big manufacturing business , banks, ect. It was the left that wanted government to look after everybody and tax the rich.

We all know how efficient the government is.

As usual, OT's query, assumes a lie. Right wing nuts are well proven to be substantially more charitable than socialists. It's the old, have you stopped beating your wife fallacy. It's either stupid or dishonest.

I have a problem with the federal government illegally meddling with education. I have a problem with the NEA diminishing education opportunities. I have a problem with the most expensive education system in the world delivering the 37th most effective product because it's run by liberals (losers).
I have a problem with education "degrees" not requiring chemistry, calculus, physics or economics and thus attracting inferior students.

complicated question.. mostly because it is so full of prejudices .. and stereotypical biases..

so let me help you dispel some of your prejudices first..

most rightwingnuts do not hate... hatred is vulgar and cancerous..

so we can't hate volunteers if we don't hate....

our armed forces are often considered volunteers as they are no longer drafted, .. and we often show our support for them...

teachers are not volunteers.. they get paid.. and often if they take on additional coaching or duties they get additional stipends (pay)

some go well beyond that pay... and they should be honored..
but to say they are volunteers isn't really correct..

that would be like saying the guy at the check out counter at the drug store is a volunteer..

I still have never got a good answer to why most teachers are liberals--

maybe it is because large population areas have the most schools and teachers.. and those areas tend to be more liberal...

(hint demographics.. )

so now why are most the volunteers liberals

are you sure?,..

many, if not most, liberals are self-righteous, like the nurse that is refusing to think of others' safety when it comes to her quarantine...OT would say they have "holier than though" attitudes, but won't admit it.

Military gets paid! Just like the teachers do- both sign contracts...

But its always the evil liberal teachers that are teaching the children liberal ideas is what I hear the radical right spouting... Then why don't more rightwingers become teachers- or do the rightwing teachers just automatically switch to liberals when they become better educated :???:

Same with these groups like Doctors without Borders, Peace Corps, UNICEF, and other humanitarian groups always seem to be criticized by the radical right as a bunch of liberals... Often I have heard these volunteer folks called a bunch of liberal do-gooders--- and now I see that some are even blaming these liberal do- gooders for bringing ebola and other diseases into the country... Are none of these volunteers conservatives?

Hey OT...do "Doctors without Borders" get paid for their volunteer service?

Maybe you should check into it, before speaking about something you know nothing about...
